Same with adding DU to the turret cheeks of the M1 Abrams models that had it.
I have hope that they will at whatever pace it gets done. Just look at how much better the 2S38 is now. It’s still very good, but it’s balanced enough that it wasn’t the overpowered premium vehicle that it was. Same with damage models on all helicopters that was basically done to make the Ka-50/52 more squishy.
Q-5A and Q-5L finally have flares, and are pretty fairly placed at 9.3 and 10.3 respectively, yet both Su-7’s who have CCRP and CCRP/CCIP respectively have no flares and are still at 9.0 and 9.3. There’s no reason why either should be above 8.7 or 9.0 for BR in GRB respectively.
I wish they’d look into the A-4 further for GRB. For what it can get dragged into via the MM, it’s comical that it still exists in it’s configuration.
Gaijin giveth, Gaijin taketh away. That’s all I can really say at the end of the day.
Sidenote, major props to the devs for the minor QOL that has come from shifting some of the premiums out of 10.0 and into 10.3 etc. I really have enjoyed what 9.0/9.3 and 10.0 have become since (even if it’s at the cost of my dearly beloved 10.7).
The state of germany top tier air is a disaster, and Gaijin hasn’t made any attempt to fudge the numbers, embellish or add subtree aircraft to help out.
If this is allowed to be, because “germany doesn’t have any planes sry” then why should it be different when it comes to Russia or other nations lacking 5th gen counterparts?
Even with aim9, it would probably not be very effective in ARB.(depending on the missile) since it would have to get in a good position to fire the missile. And with it’s lackluster turning performance, (compared to a fighter)it would struggle to do so.
I feel that. But do we know what planes should be able to detect the Pantsir? It’s not the same, but Su-7 really could use some flares, and I don’t think the plane ever got it. So maybe the fix is some more decompression?
Not sure what the SPO-10 can and can’t do. I know that some features get “dumbed down” in RB which is what I play, so I’d assume that was done in RB for balance.
I don’t know what planes can detect the Pantsir in real life, so I can’t help you with that one. I’d assume the SM3 can because it has a more advanced RWR and Russia produces both the SM3 and the Pantsir…
Most of planes which were placed in the German TT were in Regia Aeronautica camos and with Kingdom flag, iirc only SM.79bis/late had ANR camo.
Idk if you can call it subtree or not, I think we had them mainly because they’ve already had models ready, maybe at the beginning of the project, Gaijin didn’t see Italy as a standalone TT, but with a lot of support from playerbase they decided to introduce it, plus with a lot of interwar/WW2 planes and previous less strict policy about incomplete/paper stuff, Italy had a lot of potential in the air.
I remember that in 2013-2014 there were already regular answers from dev Lassar about their plans for Italy and in the beginning of 2015 he posted that it’s planned to show the Italian TT template that summer, but after that Lassar disappeared and Italy was postponed to 2017, probably because of the popularity of newly implemented ground forces and maybe also because BVV_d became producer (although I don’t remember exactly when) as he seem to not like this country, at least on streams he tries to avoid it 😆
All RWRs can now detect all radars, regardless of whether they could IRL (and yes, docs have been shared on the forums that give the operating range of the SPO-10 RWR and docs have also been shared for the PD radar on the F-4 for example. SPO-10 cannot detect PD IRL)
Whether this change was good or not is debatable, but it was done. All RWRs can detect all radars despite IRL evidence.
However, Pantsir remains undetectable, even in RB, by virutally all aircraft. I just feel they should make it so that all RWRs can detect the Pantsir for the sake of fairness. Likewise, most ARMs dont seem to detect the K-Band of the Pantsir, they should be made so that they can for the sake of fairness. Would be really unfair if the only SPAA not affected by ARM was the Pantsir.
hey I did find something out, the ALARM would be able to pick up and killed Pantsirs, because sure it cant pick up K band but the Pantsirs search radar is in the F band which the ALARM can detect and lock onto
That is true, I forgot the search radar is more detectable. Though I can still see the Pantsir being freakishly immune to ARMs “because it uses a different frequency”
funny enough, looking at the nato ARMs the ALARM does have the most range of bands it can detect so thats neat, also worse case they can add its loitering feature
It buffed a few I know, But still really annoying how Pantsir cant be detected on quite a few RWRs.
If you are going to make ahistorical changes for the sake of balance. Like PestoMystic is suggesting for things like the Su-57 to be fair vs F-22s. Then they should also make ahistorical changes like making it so that Pantsir can be detected by all RWRs, like they did with aircraft
It will get better as we get more modern aircraft, pretty much all modern RWRs will pick up K band. I know for example the later German Tornados had their RWRs replaced with a SAAB one that could detect up to L band. The Tigers recently got their K band RWR too.
But doesnt really help things like the Tornado IDSs we have in game already.
As I said, if they made this ahistorical RWR change for aircraft, then it should also apply to SAMs too. Otherwise, they should go back to the Mig-23MLs not detecting the SKyflash I just fired at them. If I have to deal with R-24Rs and R-60Ms then I think its only fair they cant detect my Skyslugs
tbh does the lock warning even really matter, if im flying cas and see spaa on the rwr im already thinking 3 steps ahead in terms of positioning so im not in a spot to die easily, if ur just flying slow and high warning or not you still dead
Their kind of different issues though. For example, a MiG-29 won’t detect a MiG-23 launch because the SPO-15LM doesn’t detect I band. This has gotten me killed a few times.
A better solution would have been to never add the Pantsir.
