but honestly I agree
the map design didn’t evolve, the gamemodes didn’t change, nothing did
the vehicles just don’t fit the mode anymore, it’s much worse for planes than tanks but still

I think it’s hard to say which kind of map is suitable, big map may cause boring game, like the red desert. But game modes surely need some new changes, it’s a 10+ year old game and we have only basically 2 main game modes.
I agree with your premise 100 % and I hope they keep adding more features to the game. But the thing is, maps and gameplay (modes) didn’t evolve, they rather devolved. Just look at ARB as an example. They turned it into Arcade 2.0.
I’m not 100% sure either. I’m just going off what I read in the swiss hornet suggestion.
However at least the swiss hornet can still get 9Ms with the reasoning of “well the US one mounted them so technically the swiss one could too”.
im great in flying low so i have no problem lol also i dont play air battles lol need that in ground battles
game modes are fine for most of the BRs
just once it gets more and more modern and the valley you really couldn’t reliable snipe through in your T-34-76 becomes Death Valley
in air it’s the same, you’re not clashing 2 walls of fighters against each other anymore in Missile thunder, everything is fast enough to dance through the map, Terrain cover, flanking routes and distance become vital parts of the way these aircraft have to be played
ugh anyways, what are your ideas for today’s devblog?
will it be an event blog? a new mechanic? new tree even?
Osa or F15E
But, as Gaijin officially stated, this is a deliberate design choice of theirs; not something that happened “because they moved on so quickly with vehicles that they didn’t have time to include new maps/modes”.
They already said years ago that they didn’t want to include any asymmetrical game mode (attack/defence-based) or too complex ones and that “controlling a map was the way to go for most war games”; and they have released dozens of new maps but they never change because it’s what, sadly, the actual majority of players actually seem to like.
Slowing down vehicle additions would serve no purpose when new maps and modes aren’t even considered by them.
just because Gaijin choses so doesn’t mean that the game is any more ready
So what- we should have stayed in 2015? “Hey Gaijin, don’t add new vehicles until you change your mind about the gamemodes, if you ever do”…
Yes, we disagree on that part
No I don’t want to continue this trenchfight of an argument
I offer to you that we get back on topic and start complaining about Devblogs and their absence instead
Hope for a teaser, I will.
A dev blog even then, welcome would be.
@Smin1080p_WT
First time pinging you in years, but you are our only bridge between devs and community.
On behalf of the players, please suggest adding tricolor smoke as one of the rewards for the upcoming War Thunder’s birthday next week.
Thanks
which colours do you want?
Well we have 10 nations. Being able to pick one out of thenational flag colours would be neat.
but previously some of those have been rare rewards for events
“The Other Tank Game” memories…
BF1? because that is what those remind me of
Heh, I work nights, but had things to do during normal people time when I normally sleep, so connked out at 2000 ish, woke up at 0400. Can’t do anything until the other half is up at 1000 lmao
