Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Hopefully, tomorrow; and the day after tomorrow, stream and server.

Otherwise, if they wait till next week, there would be too little time between the dev server and the update release to fix most of the issues that will surely be present.

Tomorrow lol

That’s what I was thinking too since the update is supposed to come out in early November and the dev server usually lasts about two weeks

Teasers are on Thursdays

Not always. They’ve been on other days before. Though this time I am expecting it on Thursday.

The unpainted blank ones were also possible but we don’t know for certain the last one is a kingfisher from Murmansk. So it was decided to go with one proven directly that they still retained the US livery from my previous post.

This should probably matter. On the 2nd picture of the ship you can see 1 on the tail of the plane, and the 3rd picture also show it with 1 on the tail.

Now that we are getting the BP blogs, any word on if we are going to get a new tank or is it going to be an RNG box? Assuming the rumour leak is correct on the plane ofc.

Feeling there’s gonna be a nice devblog tomorrow
That or teaser

confirmed

Am i missing something? Is the ircm on the mi8?

I know the real teaser. But sometimes we have gotten these tiny ones. Like the skink one for example.

yes
The Mi-8AMTSh-VN is equipped with the LSZ-8VN airborne defense system - it automatically detects missile launches and uses false thermal targets.

GAIJIN is getting every MI-24 a MI-8 equal, now it’s MI-35M

My guess is that we either

A. Get the Greif devblog tomorrow and a teaser for the next update,

B. Get the Greif devblog tomorrow and that’s it, no teaser, devblogs continue one per day until the weekend, and we get the teaser next Thursday (this would indicate a very late, very big update)

Im guessing maybe another devblog today, actually for the update. But more likely 2 devblogs tomorrow including the teaser or teaser friday,

I see one of 2 possibilities.

Teaser tomorrow because this is a small update and therefor has less blogs to pump out or Teaser next week

BuNo 5341 and 5760 on the Milwaukee were the only Kingfishers in Soviet service

From red stars volume 4

VOUGHT-SIKORSKY OS2U-3 KINGFISHER
Two Vought-Sikorsky OS2U-3 Kingfishers were delivered to USSR on board USS Milwaukee, which was transferred to the Soviet fleet on 24 August 1944as compensation in connection with the division of the Italian Navy among the Allied powers. The American cruiser was given the name MURMANSK, and was returned ( including the two Kingfishers) to the USA after the war, in 1947.
I.A.Platonov (118 ORAP VVS SF) made a number of training flights with Kingfishers, but no operational missions are known. The Kingfishers were coded “1” and “2”.

On page 224 is a coloured profile of Kingfisher “2”, wearing red stars and the number 2 on the rudder. Colours of the aircraft seems to show two shades of light grey, dark (upper) light Underside of fuselage.
Other photos of the ship and Kingfishers can be seen on pages 156, showing US Star and bar and 157 aircraft “1” wearing the Soviet red star outlined white.

Of course you’ll find images of them in American markings immediately after they transferred the ship over when they have better things to do that repaint a float plane.
The devs seriously cannot believe Murmansk spent 5 years sailing with US floatplanes covered in US markings when they had very frosty relations with the US.
