Again, if a nation doesn’t have enough vehicles for a lineup at a certain BR range, then that’s just gonna be that way. Both of the swedish 6.7s can easily be used at higher BRs anyways.

R-74 is second gen (by Russian standards) IIR. We won’t even get R-73M until around then because R-73M is IIR as well.

74 is upgraded versions of the 73

My understanding is that no Russian IIR missile existed until R-74M2 (found only on Su-57)
No. The R-73M was called the K-74 in testing and the misnomer stuck. Range iirc is a little better, same with tvc capability. R-74 and 74M each have slightly better limits on the off-boresight targeting abilities. R-74M2 is the stealthy version for the Su-57’s internal weapons bays.
Mind you, plain old R-73 had good enough IRCCM to be on par with the first generation of AIM-9X, at least according to the devs. The current R-73 isn’t even as good as it should be.
Just a reminder, the guy who did that datamine also said the leopard 40/70 was for sweden when it was for italy. Just saying take it with a grain of salt and dont get your hopes up to high.

Upgraded M-80 seekers from Arsenal existed in small quantities and had dual-color IR. When things slowly deteriorated, Russia reverse engineered the upgrade and started producing them domestically.
Dual color IR is still far from IIR. Dual color is what you’d see with Stinger, Mistral, and etc. IIR would be SPIKE or PARS 3 (unflareable).
Python 4, AAM-3, and Magic 2 are supposed to be dual color.

Both the F-16AJ and the R2Y2s were added because Japan lacked competitive PLANES at top tier when they were introduced. Gaijin added these in particular because they were the closest to being real options that they could find, with the R2Y2s being partially built jet bombers based on the R2Y prop plane. They have already said that the F-16AJ was a one-off.
I didn’t play the game when the Ho Ri was introduced and I don’t know how the Japanese tree looked like when it was added, but it probably got added because a) Japan lacked tanks in general and b) it was a partially built Japanese tank destroyer.
Planes obviously have a higher priority for Gaijin than tanks and a nation not having a “shiny toy” at top tier would be a no-go for them.
