i don’t want to argue, but i mean this thing was owned by the swedish Military and was in service just as a practice target. does it make sense? well it’s better than tested vehicles that’s for sure.
With where WT is going, it would not surprise me if they do a second Area 88 event, but more styled after the Manga/OVAs.
One that would be more involved than just “PvE mode and skins”

I don’t think being used as a range target qualifies as being in service

Germany was the last nation to get their phantom (of those in game at the time) and it eas outclassed in every way at the time it was added

I mean, yeah, but a tank is usually built to be used as a fighting vehicle. You don’t use a tank that you want to use in combat as a range target, you use decomissioned vehicles for that.
Did that King Tiger serve the swedish military in some way? Yeah.
Did it serve it’s intended purpose? No.
From what I have read the reason they bought it in the first place was for evaluation. That evaluation went down as follows:
They took it out for driving tests, managed to destroy a couple parts while doing so, had trouble fixing it and transporting it, realised they couldn’t really get the opportunity to test the gun and then decided to use it as a range target for firing tests.
In the end it’s up to gaijin what they do with that King Tiger. I personally would just have added a swedish camo for one of the german King Tigers, but I can see why it would be fun for the swedes to have one too, just not as a TT vehicle.
sweden has so few possible lineups below 7.3 that even a King tiger with Swedish camo would be very needed
i mean it’s the only option Lol there’s nothing else but an AMX that wasn’t even owned by the swedish military only tested, and lets skip the part where it was tested the vehicle doesn’t really help majorily .
Well so far it looks like this was in vain. 2.35.0.10 only brought the two aforementioned vehicles.

Funny that, it’s almost like sweden wanted to stay neutral in WW2 or something.
But in all seriousness, I am pretty sure that between Finland, Norway and Denmark you could find something to fill those gaps better than with a range target.
is it not enough that the tank was owned and served in the swedish Military?, i mean you people complained so much about " we do not want tested vehicles for sweden it doesn’t make sense" and when a vehicle that was actually owned and not tested and SERVED ya’ll disagree with it being in the TT, sounds to me like ya’ll don’t want anything for sweden.
edit: by tested i mean tested for the purpose of possibly buying this tank.
They didn’t buy that Tiger because they wanted to use it as a tank. They bought it to research it and when they were done with that they destroyed it by using it as a range target.
How is that a tech tree vehicle?
Even if Sweden went so far as to copy the King Tigers design and reproduce its components I still wouldn’t put that specific King Tiger in the tech tree, it would still be a premium or event vehicle.

IIRC it has the same seeker style as the Stinger, giving RU IR superiority when they already have SARH superiority and comparable ARH when R-77 comes would be pretty unbalanced imo.
doesn’t change the fact that this tank is needed. and imo it makes sense to add it as there is no other option. if you want to discuss this more there is a forum post about it.
Stinger uses IR/UV. R-74 uses double channel IR

also it is a tech tree vehicle be cause sweden BOUGHT IT OWNED IT THEY USED IT FOR THEIR OWN PURPOSE. that’s enough for me i don’t know what stuff you want a tank to do before dropped in a nation that desperatly needs a tank like this and has not other options.
Ok, let’s say there really isn’t any alternative from Denmark, Finland or Norway, why would the King Tiger be needed for Sweden?
If your nation doesn’t have enough vehicles at a certain BR to fill a lineup, then that’s just how it is.
Add it without ammo then. Sweden never had long 88 ammo.

it’s needed be cause:
1- needed to fill the 5.7-7.7 gap
2- needed to support the 6.7 swedish lineup(something like the AMX won’t help as it would be worst than anything in the current 6.7 swedish lineup and that defeats the entire purpose of adding a new tank to it)
3-divercity in gameplay
also norway and denamrk do exist but they have never ben implemented in the TT not once. and finland doesn’t have options.
