Major Update “Air Superiority” - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 4)

I am grinding the FGR.2, because since it land base fighter, it would probably come after that plane.

It was a joint venture, in the same way as AMX International or Panavia Tornado.

Yes.

What os the current dev build?

Have they updated it today?

Yesterday, it went from .26 to .27.

Asking just to know if it’s worth it to start the PC to check lol

2.32.0.27

i sure hope we get more stuff this update… otherwise this might be one of the tiniest winter updates ever.

“Tiniest winter updates ever”

New top tier jet for 75% of nations
New Top tier MBT for 50% of nations

And this doesnt count any new mechanics or under the hood things that are going on.
Hopefully we see the RP bonus for having a Top tier vic researched in a tree come as it’d be very much appreciated sooner rather than later.

@SPANISH_AVENGER

buffing abrams armor would make top tier unbalanced

im sure that will do it not spall liners removing 99% of spalling on hit

if they buff abrams sep armor
it will ruin top tier
and whenever you hit side or other weakspot
it will reduce spall and wont kill crews
it will make abrams like a maus in top tier

But its okay if things like T90M or Leopard 2 exist in that form while others dont?

Good.
USA, Germany, Sweden, Soviets will all be heavily armored.
Now for the other countries.

I sort of agree.

If we take Abrams (let’s assume basic M1 primarily) as an example, let’s say Gaijin put spall liners in all the tanks that should have them, it would basically make them like “no armour is best armour” vehicles where they would have reduced spall and require crew members or important modules to be picked apart shot by shot.

This would undoubtedly make them more powerful and require increased BR.

Then if we start with adding the best shells those vehicles served with, more BR spiralling upwards.

Abrams where it sits right now, they are generally fast for their BR’s with workable armour and shells, they have generally space out interiors which make them more difficult (not impossible) to oneshot. They have guns and reloads which can let them aim for weaker areas, but without having to be stuck to sniping pixels. They have a place right now.

If they had spall liners, went up because of spall liners, and became vehicles which are at BR’s where they are slower, their armour is paper but they don’t spall and their shells are not really more effective since the targets at the new BR are different, is that really good?

I get the sense that what US players want from their Abrams, is a tank like the popular conception.
Big engine, fast, well protected and capable of dealing with a lot of targets or at least slugging it out. Sparks fly everywhere as the behemoths of the modern battlefield churn sand and mud in their tracks whilst trading shells.

Maybe with finer balancing, such a meta is possible, for now it’s difficult to have such a vehicle.

Spall liners would change a lot about a lot of tanks, it causes a big upheaval in the metas.

I want spall liners, they existed and should be implemented and exist.

I’m not sure if they would have desirable consequences with the current state of the BR’s, balance and damage model.

Bug reports are for M1A2 Sepv1 and v2

I think many vehicles have Spall Liners, I assume M1 basic also has them, so I picked it.

Afaik no Leclerc use spall liners, or perhaps the last modern one, XLR, not ingame, so sad about that :/

Or it’s gonna be a reason to unnerf lot of things on Leclercs if everybody got spall liners and not France. Good to me.

Bugs reports are about hull armor for sep v1 and v2. About spall liners I didn’t saw one

I tought all leclercs has spall liners, damn poor leclercs

I don’t have source but i’ve read it’s not the case saddly, yep.

Perhaps on the next logical Leclerc to come ingame, but even there, lot of things are classified (XLR just started to enter service IRL) so dunno if it use this.

But i’ve also read some strange armor tech on this one, dunno if it could work the same way or not.

If anyone wants to complain that Abrams is too OP, then I first doubt your gaming ability, and if you think it’s hard to deal with even an MBT like Abrams, I can only say that your game level is hopelessly bad
The Abrams series has a huge common problem, that is, the “neck” is huge and has no protection, and any shell or ATGM is enough to easily penetrate it, easily hit and even destroy.
The two SEP series side ERAs are useless, the KE is negligible, and the CE is hopeless, only able to withstand early missiles that do not exceed 800mmCE, but the Abrams are facing 1000mm+ “thermal tandem warhead” ATGMs, and the protection provided by the protection kit is almost negligible, and they will also bring heavier weight and a great reduction in maneuverability.
The most lethal thing is that the machine gun shield included in the TUSK kit becomes the 3OF26 HE receiver, which is destroyed in a single hit, and I don’t usually install the TUSK I kit.
SEP V2 also has a terrible problem with the TUSK II suite, and the TUSK II kit in the dev server cannot be removed at the moment, which I think is a serious problem.
