Major Update “Air Superiority” - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 3)

yeah, pantsir basically have most missiles, un-waring lock-on, and longest range

Yup. But dont forget. Its mid at best XD

It’s fun that most player in the Chinese community believe the Russian top tier is still the meta for almost 3 years.
Russia bias is not a meme in the Ground RB top tier clearly

China needs their FK-2000 i mean it looks like a pantsir ordered from wish, but it still is their indiginous development

I really hope that when T-90M will co.e into the game, it will be disappointing same as T-90A is (at least from what i hear from players saying about it. Which i also think that T-90A is the most realistic Russia MBT in game XD)

i love the chinese community

Tor-m1 is enough for now, I believe a better choice is a sam that can fill the gap between tor-m1 and pgz04a, after they add the self-spinning for the HN-6, it’s getting harder to use, it can miss the target on the test range

The T90 in my experience is very good although I havent used it much myself but from when I got sabot it got a lot better, it also has LWS which is nice

Not to mention its at 10.7 with 3BM60

With rank 8 ground coming, does that mean the 64D will be able to get it’s proper ATGM? Isn’t it supposed to have a fire and forget one?

At this point it seems more likely we’ll get the Spike ER instead of the Hellfire Longbow

There is a version of Hellfire that I think is F&F.

I wouldnt say no to the AH-64E for Britain at somepoint, just for the chance of Brimstone in the future as well (I dont think Britain ever used Longbow, so Brimstone is probably our only F&F AGM for a heli)

The entire reason for the name of the heli isn’t it? Or have I been misnaming this damn thing my entire childhood? “Apache Longbow” (Always talking about the 64D) lolXD

or the other way round, Longbow Hellfire because they were fitted to the Apahce Longbow. but no idea either way

Problem is that the longbow is to strong for the game, you cant dodge it with soft cover, it will hit you trough smokes and bushes since it is radar guided, that is why it has been denied for the game

I fear how much is going to be denied on those grounds in the future. Tornado Gr4 could look pretty boring if no ALARM because “HARM are bad IRL”, No Brimstone because “Too OP” and no ASRAAM because “too OP”.

T-90A is a blast. I get up tiered in it all the time and still have fun. Allegedly the 90M is going to pick up 8kmh more reverse speed, and still have excellent armor. If so, it’s just going to be more fun.

What would even be the problem on the brimstone? the only big problem is the amount that can be carried isnt it. Besides that it is a normal IR, optical seeker right?. I dont know how its speed/range compares or targeting mode, but as long as its cant be dodged with smokes should be good

brimstone is millimeter wave too, just like longbow hellfire

Interesting you bring up the 2S38 and buggy models. The 2S38 fuel tank eats rounds it shouldn’t and for an autoloader it has the smallest breech and mechanism. It also get to freely carry as many APFSDS rounds it wants. I saw people saying “oh Italy gets Spike ATGMs” and I have the vehicles and must say they are highly overrated. The spikes on the KF41 are next to useless, really only good for low and dumb helicopters. I love the Freccia, the spikes tend to save me when my gunner or breech are shot. Most my kills are from simply run around to the enemy flank and shoot. If you got a good team the spots, it makes the job easier. A far number of the Hungarian stuff added is just copy paste from other tech trees.

No, it uses a radar seeker.

Brimstone 1 is about 20+km
Brimstone 2 is about 60+km

It should also be fire and forget in that, you can fire it randomly and it will go and find the target itself. Fire all 18 on something like a Gr9A or Gr4 and it will communicate with each other and go and find up to 18 targets. Though in game Im imagining something more like AGM-65D with better range and harder to evade.

Spoiler

Brimstone is a “fire-and-forget” missile, which is loaded with targeting data by the weapon systems officer (WSO) prior to launch. It is programmable to adapt to particular mission requirements. This capability includes the ability to find targets within a certain area (such as those near friendly forces), and to self-destruct if it is unable to find a target within the designated area.

In addition to the semi-autonomous ability to decide its own targets, the Brimstone has the capacity to determine where on a target to best impact causing the most damage. The missile’s advanced sensor package includes its extremely high frequency millimetric wave radar, which allows the weapon to image the target and hence choose a target location. With as many as twenty-four missiles in the air, the missile’s targeting system also required an algorithm to ensure that missiles hit their targets in a staggered order, rather than all simultaneously.

Brimstone can be fired in a number of attack profiles; direct or indirect against single targets, a column of targets or against an array of targets. The latter utilises a salvo attack capability for multiple kills per engagement. Once launched, the platform is free to manoeuvre away from the target area or engage other targets.[22]

Laser guided is an option as well

Spoiler

The original Brimstone could not be used in Afghanistan as the rules of engagement required a “man-in-the-loop”. Under an Urgent Operational Requirement in 2008, modifications were made to the seeker and software of over 300 existing missiles to create Dual-Mode Brimstone.[26] The new missiles can be laser guided according to the STANAG 3733 standard as well as retaining the millimetre wave seeker; the pilot can select either mode from the cockpit or use both simultaneously.[26] Laser guidance allows specific enemy targets to be picked out in cluttered environments, while the mmW radar ensures accuracy against moving targets.
