Major Update “Air Superiority” - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 3)

said who

Without a targeting pod or thermals, Kh-29s and GBUs on the MiG 29 are of limited used.

The Su-39 is dead the moment someone spawn a SPAA or a fighter; it’s flight performance is too dogshit for the BR, there no reason to use it when the superior MiG 27K exists.

Marevick are unreliable, indeed, but 6 potential kills can’t be overlooked.

It has been a long time to see someone says F4e is still good just because high speed

I do respect your in game skill and a lot of your viewpoints, partially also because of said in game skill. Hell I agree with them from time to time.

You just make some really weird flips in discussions sometimes, so I just assumed it was some sort of tactic, but that might have been lifelong trust issues at work on my end haha.

I have no flips.
I have poor word choice from time to time that has clearly caused misunderstandings; that is all.
I am sorry for those poor word choices.

Earlier today I had 4 of 6 mavs get “Hits” or “Critcal Hits” and its just a track or something, then you see the tests IRL and the Mavericks OBLITERATE armor

Ive had them and used them for a long time and theyre just SO inconsistent

Only russian vehicles with 3 Gen thermals are the BVM, 2S6, 2S25M and 2S38.

So yall what are we thinking for blogs today

I’m just glad I resolved differences with Renzo.
Past me was a real reckless typer that caused many issues for present me.

I’ve never survived a TY-90 in anything.

When Grumpy says only IR missiles can kill the Su-25(I’m assuming T and 39), he’s dead wrong. I’ve been shot down by enemy SARH’s more than once, as well as Roland 1’s and ITO-90whatevers.

A rank 8 MBT, a ship, or some random thing that was expected by absolutely no one.

Because Overpressure based (Omni directional) penetration for HEAT warheads is magically hardcaped to 20mm RHAe LOS for ATGMs due to balance reasons(Roof armor for Soviets starts at 25mm CHA, and can go as high as 35mm), and Gaijin have so far completely avoided adding the regular SAP-HE warhead variants due to balance concerns even though the Kh-25 &-29T exist (and are effectively superior in every way that maters due to Contrast seekers being un-implemented). and with 80lb of Cycloctol TNTe is on par with the Kh-23.

We can’t even manage to get the AGM-65C added either, or the HEAT warheads penetration corrected, even after properly sourced reports.

funny thing, civilians in NATO countries can just buy 3rd Gen Thermals directly from FLIR https://www.flir.com/

the only other restriction is that you have to give them a reason for what you need it that’s plausible enough

you’ll have to Integrate them yourself sure but every half decent Electronic technician should be able to do that

Not super pointless, at those lower BR’s, 10 or 20mm of armor might be the difference between a penetrating shot or not, and it could definitely defend tracks from being MG’d down

why would the actuators on a Missile be pneumatic?

Also, the tail-less trick doesn’t really work on the Ka-50 at all, sometimes 52, and almost always 29. They just went after what most people had. The other two models are bugged, probably.

That being said, it should be able to fly back without a tail, that’s a design feature.

Also, I don’t think the President DIRCM works on any of the helicopters that have it. If you aren’t optically locked or radar locked, it should be almost impossible to hit a fully functioning Ka-52.

It seems to me without any other changes, Ka-50/52’s being somewhat broken is basically a fair trade-off against lack of super-sonic IR pod fighters/bombers. You can’t even pre-shoot a second or third Vikhr anymore. Yet an F-16 can dump like 6 AGM’s in a blink.

The question is can you get actively cooled systems like the ones used in tanks or just passively cooled ones that aren’t as good but still good.

From my experience with the Israeli Chaparral, it’s almost impossible to lock a Ka-52 with MIM-72G, so it probably works at least somewhat.

Fly low, and thay will never get you
