At this point I honestly start to realise that it isn’t the 2A7V that is the problem, but the SEPv2.
They skipped so many Leopard 2 variants to jump to the 2A7V, they would have been better off just skipping to the SEPv3 as well.
I’m not the first person, the manufacturer is.
F-15C entered service in 1978, F-15J in 1981.
AMRAAMs are 1991.

The modernization program also opens up three new weapons to Hungary’s Gripens: the GBU-49 Enhanced Paveway II dual-mode (laser, GPS/inertial) guided bomb, the IRIS-T within visual range air-to-air missile, and the long-range MBDA Meteor. Hungary ordered the IRIS-T in December to replace the current AIM-9M Sidewinder, the European missile offering significant engagement envelope improvements, as well as better flare rejection performance.

In terms of balance not that much.
The could add a 2A6EX or 2A5DK instead of 2A7V and they would be pretty much the same exceqpt the thermals.
The V just combines all the features currently available for Leos in game at the price of mobility.

I guess we will have to wait and see if the leak list is true for it’s so called “counterparts” (lol). I really shouldn’t have expected them to add a balanced batch of vehicles, but hope dies last.
Gaijin doesn’t really have the best balance track record when it comes to adding new ground ranks lmao.
I think it’s better to just not play US or Britain for the first few weeks after the update. Their rank VIIIs will likely be well below the 2A7V in performance and their new premiums will absolutely tank their winrate.
Let us hope then that everyone gets top premiums then.

Iirc Russia has already been denied a new rank VII premium this update.
They said that the OES and HC are the only ones for this update but more will come in the future

The 2A6EX has the 1630 hp Europowerpack of the PSO.
The 2A7V has the 1500hp engine of previous Leos but with massively improved gear ratios and thus acceleration in exchange for lower top speed of 63 kph
