Description: The Macchi MC206 was an Italian fighter of the Second World War. It was designed by the Italian engineer Mario Castoldi in 1943, when the DB603 engine should have arrived from Germany. But unfortunately, the engines were not ready to be delivered, so the industry Macchi Castoldi asked Castoldi to project an interim new aircraft with the DB605 in preparation to make a new aircraft when the DB603 would have arrived (what would later become the C207). Compared to the normal C205, the new aircraft had a bigger wing surface, with 21 m2 for the wing, and a better armament that featured 3x 20 mm mg151 cannons and 2x 12.7 mm Breda Safat machinegun. When the armistice was declared on September 8, 1943, the prototype was under construction in the factory. Unfortunately, an accidental explosion damaged the nearly completed prototype that was put together with other unfinished and damaged aircraft. Indeed It was estimated that the prototype could have been completed in only 30 days, but it was simply abandoned after that unlucky disaster. In 1944, Castoldi wanted to complete the prototype, but the Allied bombers that bombed the factory many times made this intention impossible to realize. The weight of the prototype is unknown; it is possible that it was destroyed or scrapped after the war.
Why it should be in the game: It will be a great addition to the Italian tt after the C205

+1 YES please
A fantastic aircraft to help the G.56 in that 6.0-7.7 gap the Italian tree has

She could go right next to her cousin in the Tech tree, along with the RE.2006 eventually

Unfortunately we haven’t any photos of the plane completed. So my vote is +1. I’m only sad that we can’t see it in all his glory
