I can say the same about the interviews. Maybe they’re exaggerating
You know this whole thing is very debatable and we don’t have enough information about this. So I think gaijin should just take the middle ground here and just increase the pen of the anti-ERA rounds while simultaneously buffing relikt to its actual protection value of 400-500mm
Again, what’s so magical about two steel plates moving with the force of an explosion? Relikt’s inner workings have been known for years to engineers, in fact it was even DELIVERED to NATO countries back in 2022 thanks to a certain conflict, lmaooo, so how would they have “underestimated” it when they have it on their hands? (tbh RHM was already working on how to defeat it since 2014, they tested rigs, and different ERAs too in the meantime, they know what they’re doing, and no amount of your coping will change that).
Because believing that the guys that have been lying about virtually anything in the past 100 years have somehow predicted and countered a round put into service years after relikt is incredibly naive
You know what. We can just take the middle ground here and make maybe 25% of the M829A4 round completely bypass the ERA. I think that should be good enough
So an ERA from ~2006, made years before the counters for it, should for SOME REASON, have a 3/4th chance of defeating the rounds just cus and that’s apparently a middle ground when the makers of the round make it clear it was made for defeating THIRD GENERATION EXPLOSIVE ARMORS (Relikt), and RHM, who quite literally name-dropped Relikt as a goal for the DM83 projectile and how it’s going to make it non-existent?
Lol. If your argument for not making M829A3/4 and DM83 realistic is that, i want you to go further and make LMUR’s a dud 3/4ths of the time too ;)
How is this in favor of Russia? Now every 1 in four rounds you fire gets to cut through Russian protection completely. How is that favourable for Russia?
And the other 75% of the time it gets completely stopped because…?
A reasonable compromise would be 50/50 so that players from both sides actually learn to respect the fact they can neither lol-pen or ignore anything, your solution is “give the US maybe some chance of making their round work as advertised by the maker of the round, but give Russia a much greater chance of them getting to ignore the fact it can do that”, lol.
Gaijin’s stance doesn’t matter lol. We all know they won’t make NATO weapons work as advertised while making sure Russian ones do or even overperform, i’m beyond the point of caring :P
But I still take joy in bullying people who OTP Russia like you :D
Well as per the statements of @J-16D_PLA we should believe any and all Russian publication about the quality of their ERA, and totally not trust the actual combat effectiveness of the ERA (which really hasn’t been very good xD)
the workings of Relikt are just that the flyer plates fly in two different direction upon activation, the counter to it…? make a projectile long and thick enough that it doesnt care, that’s what M829A3, the A4, and DM83 are, all three being over 900mm+ long, and each being AT LEAST 25mm thick, with DM83 supposedly being whole 30mm as they want it to completely nullify Relikt
bonus points: a projectile with a long’ish ‘sacrificial’ tip that’s meant to make a hole in the plates and leave the penetrator intact (all 3 also have it afaik, at least M829A4 and DM83 for sure do).
As per diagrams of DM83 (and it’s testbed KE2020NEO) it has quite a signifigant tip thats designed to burrow through the Relikt, allowing for the thicker penetrator rod to deal with the weak composite behind
