They’re the best they can use (except the french iirc). DM53 dont even lol-pen a T-80U with its old Kontakt-5. When you’re lucky to pen, it will do very little damage, which doesnt fit as “lol pen”.
Congrats on finding an exception to the rule, and it’s only an exception at moderate to long ranges where the LFP is covered.
Funny enough I lolpenned a T-80U form 800 meters away using M1A1 HC recently, and I only had object permanence guiding me because they were behind a tree.
Exceptions to the rule aren’t the rule, and even that exception is not much of one.
Relikt can easy protect against all supposed “anti-ERA” sabots
Source: I made it up or some guy who shares my views made it up.
Ok. How about you prove it’s effectiveness instead? As far as I know almost all info about it are classified. Maybe it works maybe it doesn’t. To my knowledge Russia has developed relikt ERA specifically against these types of projectiles
Dude this ammo is literally newer than relikt. Your math aint mathing or does russia have fortune tellers now?
Russia could have predicted how the west may be countering their heavy ERA, and therefore built in counters to those. This isn’t anything new. The west does this too
They probably did but whats more likely: that russia perfectly predicted the wests counter or that that round is a direct answer to the older relikt?
How when the US and Germany had literally predicted how Relikt works? It’s a simple double flyer plate system, it’s nothing new lmao. Germany had a similar ERA design already in the 1980s for testing their upcoming projectiles, is Relikt magic cause it’s Russian or what?
They developed Relikt against what the West had in 1980s and 1990s, the ERA itself was already known to the West by 2004, but likely much earlier, it’s nothing new. The west (in particular the US) then developed M829A3 and M829A4, and Germany later began the development of DM83 to counter it…
Predicted it? Relikt entered service in 2006 and the contract for development of M829A4 was awarded in 2011 and the round entered service in 2016. M829A3 entered service in I believe 2003. The US probably was staring at a piece of Relikt since at least 2008.
I don’t think so, because NII STALI directly said that the ERA would counter anti-ERA rounds
If that’s what you want to believe, fine. But I stay by facts not fiction
Your source isn’t “facts”, but if coping that it is helps you feel better about defending broken things…
Fistly, relikt isn’t “broken”. Secondly, you don’t have a reliable source either
Ah yes a russian research institute. You know id rather believe a fortune teller to be honest
Both KE2020Neo and 130 mm rounds are being tested against different types of NATO ballistic targets representing respectively the latest versions of T-72, T-80 and T-90 Russian main battle tanks
EDR magazine, from an interview with Rheinmetall’s executive, notice how they say LATEST :)))
Bundestag itself stated DM83’s development goal is the capability for defeating Relikt, so cope.
Yea ok. So you dismiss any source that disagrees with your narrative as inaccurate? So why are we still having a discussion here if you believe everything you say is right?
The source in question uses figures that were CREATED on the INTERNET, their origin isn’t from SAID INSTITUTE EVEN, they just took them because they’ve been repeteated on the internet for ages, THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS WITH “SCIENTIFIC STUDY PAPERS”.
How are they representing these tanks tho? I don’t think they have actual relikt ERA. So, what if they are underestimating the strength of the ERA?
