Relikt, nizh and pretty much every other KE focused era becomes pretty much useless against kinetics(and tandem atgms) on a side and top profile, this is on top of the fairly understood counter mechanisms, at the absolute least every modern western armor package that I saw some protection data for offers complete protection against 25mm apfsds and that’s just what is made public through stanag, this is whilst offering much superior defenses against chemical munitions, especially when taking tandem era like Arat 2 into account, now we have no real knowledge on the true capabilities of western armor packages, but make no mistake they aren’t big heavy and expensive for fun.
And as a baseline the modeling in war thunder is absolutely abysmal.
Camouflage and reverse gear is also nothing new but American army wasted 14 years on UCP ACU and RAF won’t give good reverse speed for tanks for entirety of Russian Federation existance.
No and likely won´t be out there for many years to come.
So the best we can do right now is relying in US and Russian sources (namely, manufacturers of M829A3 and Relikt; ATK and Nii Stali) and strangely both corroborate each other regarding the Relikt being effective enough against M829A3.
Also there aren´t many simulations out there but also goes in line with whats expected:
@Alan_Tovarishch the issue I’ve seen with the simulations is they hit at optimal angles. In this case the magic 68 degrees installation angle.
At real engagement ranges height differences and ballistic drop from distance can reduce that angle. Even as much as 3 degrees can significantly impact ERA plate performance.
