It also gets 90mm HVAP, that’s more pen than the RCV or XM800T at almost 2 BRs higher that only get like 60mm.
You can say that for all SPAA.
This is the basic problem. Developers and Players think that an anti-aircraft gun is a tank. That’s why there are no anti-aircraft guns in the game. So the planes do whatever they want.
The anti-aircraft gun must destroy the plane with the first hits. The anti-aircraft gun is not obliged and should not fight with tanks. Armor-piercing shells for anti-aircraft guns in this game are evil. And evil must be defeated!
I’m gonna be honest, this is an anti-aircraft gun developed in the late 50s. Just because it has high velocity rounds and a 30mm caliber doesn’t mean it needs to be moved up into Cold-War era brs. Just soley based on it’s anti-aircraft preformance.
Yes it’s going to 1 shot planes because it’s a fast firing dual 30mm. It’s pretty much the only twin barreled large caliber SPAA at it’s tier that doesn’t suffer from barrel desync because the firerate for the indivdual barrels are so high.
May I also remind people how CAS in general behaves, you think when they see SPAA firing at them they would take evasive action, no. 80% of the time they charge any SPAA they see firing head on and end up dying to them in a trade 92% of the time, so that is mostly on the pilots. People are just too lazy to correctly engage SPAA and get mad when one that’s exceptionally good tear them apart in the head on.
If anything, it doesn’t need HVAP rounds, or have it limited to 1 magazine worth of HVAP so people don’t end up using this for non SPAA purposes. Most SPAA get uptiered just because people end up using them as TD.
It’s not too powerful for its BR. Other SPAAs like Kugel should go down
