Why is it the M44 tank destoyer with its stats almost kills everything with 1 shot where the german m55 which has better stats cant seem to kill anything. Seems like a bit of a joke. Not sure what gaijin was doing here. The m55 by all metrics should outperform the m44

Should and it’s outperforming, however I think regarding explosive penetration there’s a limitation factor, you see, there are only 4 mm of explosive penetration from a 155 mm cannon to a 203 mm, so is 17 mm of explosive penetration from a 203 mm cannon to a 380 mm cannon, which doesn’t matter much, above 4 kilograms of TNT equivalent you can, most of the time, overpressure any target.

I can’t believe the m44 is still at BR 4.0
- Very mobile 56 fwd/15 rev
- 5 crew giving it decent survivability
- .50 cal mg
- Howitzer can 1-tap even heavies at 5.7+
- Better optics (4.1x-8.0x) than anything it will meet in battle - basically using m41 optics which is 6.0/6.3.
I’m really surprised it has not been re-evaluated for BR rating based on how many I’ve seen and how well they do in battles.
Should be 4.7 or even 5.0

I havent had much issues with the m55.
You shouldnt have any issues one shotting tanls at its br.

He was saying that he csnt kill anything with the m55. I was saying that he should not have issues killing tanks with it.

What matches are people getting where M44s are dominating?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an M44 ever do well. They get machine gunned, APHE’d, ammo racked, strafed…
And that experience I predicted from the cross analysis of it with other SPHs.
A low velocity 155mm gun on an open chassis.
Yes, it’s fast, but at 3 BRs higher than the Panzer 2 SPH I felt the reload and mobility buffs over that vehicle seemed fine.
There is also the heavily armored Brumbar that I feel is a better tank to the M44, getting access to HEAT for those that prefer it, as well as the all-encased platform for a Panzer IV’s mobility.
My only guess is when it was brand new and people were caught off guard.
I do better with the m55 due to it being easier to aim.

I prefer using M55, even if M44 is the more ‘meta’ choice.

Yeah, same for me. Though i only played like 3 games in the m44. For the m55, im at almost a 3.5kd
