Like I said I think it’s being lost in translation.
I really don’t think that is the case.
Otherwise this would’ve been fixed because, as I said, even the original poster of that bug report has forwarded a request for the change to be revoked due to the inconsistency with his source, as he is a technical moderator like yourself, and nothing came out of it. His message is in this very topic even.
If even the original creator of the bug report is saying that the source is bad, then it really does not seem like this could be an issue of it being lost in translation. I’d be entirely fine if Gaijin were transparent and just said “we are keeping it at 24º/s for etc etc reason”. But they don’t, and that is very annoying.
The devs comments amount to this
“If there are different sources, the choice of setting data remains with the developers. In this case, there are two values from manuals, therefore, including for ease of setup and tracking of the “reference” parameter value, data from the manual is accepted. There are no plans to change the value; we are satisfied with the current horizontal guidance speed of the specified units.”
I know that is the dev’s response. I just think it is not the actual reason why they aren’t changing it.
They simply have decided to continue using a source even though they have have multiple people telling them that the source is meaningless for that specific statistic? It just does not make sense.
Unless you want me to believe that the devs outright don’t know what they are doing which I doubt even more. Again, if they stated something like, I don’t know, balance, I’d be way more content. But this answer is just a really big nothingburger.
I’m just passing on the information requested, the devs have made a decision on it. I don’t have any sway in the mater.
I am aware, and I am not going to ask you to make changes.
I am purely giving my POV on this entire issue and the (in my opinion) disappointing response from the devs.
