I think it’s similar to the T26E1, probably for balancing purposes since the gun is great. Definitely worth using over the M26, which has a shorter reload but is an absolutely pointless tank since the T26E5 is much better

Reload speed is a balance parameter. Gaijin can tweak it as it sees fit.
The M26E1 has only a 1-second faster reload difference between the T26E1-1 Super Pershing when aced, all while being worse in every way, protection-wise.
It only gets an extra .50 calibre as a coaxial machine gun, and is slightly faster in mobility from less weight, but it’s barely noticeable in-game, and that’s about it.
The 10-second historical reload is more than fair, considering other comparative national counterparts, like Ex: German KwK 43 long 88mm takes an average of 8-9 second(s) to reload with similar penetration performance.
