Every country got a Sherman and few got the M26. It’s not surprising. Many countries’ industries are still recovering.

Considering China’s 6.7 weight, there is really no suitable heavy tank. T26 may be a good choice.

Do you know of any technical development that the captured M26 heavy tank played in Chinese tank development? Or was the tank a bit of a technical write off concerning Chinese tank development when it mattered?
I can’t say for certain, but I don’t feel like it would have played a major role in tank development in China. By the time this was captured, China was in the middle of a war with access to the IS-2. Even by the time China could produce tanks on a decent scale in the late 1950s, it already had access to the T-54A/Type 59.

I imagine they would look at the T-54/55 compared to the M-26 and think “we got the yankee running dogs whipped in this!”
Makes sense most likely some fire control ideas and optic tech would be valuable. It would be interesting if what they thought of all the captured equipment from an engineering view. Optic tech though is a bit hit or miss if you captured any as replication is hard but it helps.
Slightly not relevant but Tanks sold to Iran did play a role in North Korean tank development in the area of fire control (maybe).
It has “medium tank” class in the game anyway.
i said no to russia china does not need this they already have the tech tree IS2 and we dont need more premium noobs in copy slop tanks -1
