If the game have X maps, i think all tanks should be good in a level or another on all maps if played correctly and trying to use the tanks strengths as max as possible (on that i agree with you).
Thats is why i think its irrelevant say to play without exposing the hull while we have maps that is virtually impossible to do that.
I ain’t gonna check every person reply, you can take the time and find it by yourself to make your claim more real.
i don’t see the need in me wasting my time playing dogshit maps that blatantly favor one side/a specific type of vehicle/a specific nation
I can’t be forced to play bad maps and you don’t have to either

Anyway; this is, in a nutshell, all these Abrams threads are about. I don’t think there’s anything unreasonable about this.
No one is asking the Abrams to be turned into an invincible overpowered vehicle; only to have the legitimate concerns about the accuracy of its modelling addressed, just as everyone wants every other tank’s issues to be solved as well.

i mean… that would never make much of a ‘significant’ change ingame, the extra turret armor can literally just gen more spall and maybe silly up some volumetric stuff…

Which further proves that we never wanted to turn it into an invincible OP machine.
We only want the turret ring area not to be pennable like autocanons… because it’s not the case in real life; and few other modelling inaccuracies that wouldn’t make it gamebrakingly strong; just more accurate.
Doubt it would generate more spall- it would, however, make it stronger on front arc shots. As of now, you can shoot at the Abrams’ turret side from the front and you will punch right through it, hit the ammorack through the blast doors, and anihilate it. Improved side armor would help prevent this.

Volumetric turret armour would be a downgrade it’d make the turret ring be susceptible to shells even below 50mm pen randomly

If they model it after the real pictures, it would be 250-300mm thick all around;
Specially taking into account that the turret ring armor wouldn’t be just the ring itself, but also the lower part of the turret made to fit into it, so it would combine as yet another layer.

I mean… even if they kept the current model, it would be like:
And that’s without counting the chunk present on the lower turret part, which would be behind the ring itself. The whole combo could potentially reach up to 400mm LOS.
Given the physical dimensions, I can’t see how it could possibly become worse at any point O.O
EDIT: that being said, after seeing what they did to Challenger 2’s mantlet… I don’t even know anymore lmao. They straight out modelled it hollow because they skipped the whole rotor part those cavities are meant to house.

Yeah, the issue is definitely the Abrams players who make threads in attempts at having these tanks’ issues addressed.
Not the constant and consistent floods of people on each and every single Abrams-related thread rambling about “SkIlL iSsUeS”, playing the competitive victim by bringing up that “we can’t cry because Ariete has it worse”, claiming that “we want to make the Abrams invincible” just because we ask for the turret ring not to be unrealistically frontally vulnerable to autocanons, and jumping into provoking with deep personal attacks and harassment when they see they aren’t getting the reactions they wanted until they do thanks to their constant escalations, point at which they flip the tables and play the victim like clockwork, very often also flagging and silencing all evidence showcasing the deep toxicity they vomit to spark it all to make it look like everything came “from the Abrams players out of nowhere”.
Many users have already been perma-banned (gladfully) from these Forums because they went as far into breaking the basic Forum coexistence rules as spamming some of these threads with death and rape threats, suicide wishes, identity attacks and other forms of deep harassment, and let me clue you in: it was NOT the “Abrams players” (AKA anyone concerned about the modelling of a vehicle ingame, apparently).
Maybe, just maybe, some people are starting to be fed up with this and some are starting to lose their patience, so congratulations to those whose’s goal was that.

I understand how serious such threats can be and where they stem from (not Abrams players!!).
I was joking about how sometimes players (both working for the same thing) will bicker about really trivial things like “X tank is better than Y”. Of course that happens in other threads I just see a distinct correlation between Abrams threads and players arguing about who is worse. I’m yet to see one of these that doesn’t have people bringing up each others stats.
