Getting extra hull armor and M829A3 is just not going to be possible. Pick one.

It have almost same penetration value as the existing M829A2 and will not make any difference, it’s just a “balanced” M829A3 version of real life version

I think it’s currently a flat 50mm ish plate and that’s it, which is why any autocannon can annihilate them frontally.

It will hopefully be much better going forward.

Do we have anything in the way of actual, like. Ballpark numbers for the SEPV3’s hull armor? All I’ve seen so far is ‘The armor is upgraded’ and ‘they got depleted uranium in there’.

Like in the realm of ‘it can be reasonably demonstrated that it improves resistance against [x shell]’

A majority of what you face is K5 tanks because of UE1 spam. Though I agree K5 is not much of a threat. However what this spells is every nation wanting an anti-ERA shell as well. You can’t just give it to the US.

I go over it here but TL:DR, yes it’s a guess based on past research and goals:

Hull does not have a LOS increase. Both measure 600mm from the front plate to the weld line, which there is then 101mm RHA back plate. So 701mm LOS total for every Abrams ever on the hull. From M1A1 to SEPv2, the armor cavities are 711 mm thick (Source) plus the 101mm RHA turret structure back plate so 812 mm total. Uhh we got guestimates but with weld lines a 600mm LFP is possible.
