I mean this is still true though, the Abrams are some of the best tanks at their BRs. The 12.0 ones are even undertiered.
Damn, it you two giving us a reality check. I didn’t get to flash that one tank I had an 8 K/D with.
I went a long time without using the TUSK because it simply didn’t work! Now I’m loving the fact that I can survive after taking an 800mm missile from a BMPT or BMP-2M and send them straight back to the hangar thanks to the TUSK saving me! Considering it’s a top-tier vehicle, this should have been implemented a long time ago. If you think it’s irrelevant, it’s probably because you don’t play the M1. It’s a shame you won’t be using it after such a great addition, but that’s fine—leave it to me. I’ll gladly use it with pleasure!
Seeing people defending M1s being at 12.0 is really funny. I guess they think 2A5 is a better tank lol.
The best part is that the 11.7 M1A1 and 11.3 IPM1 are somehow even more undertiered, like seriously the M1A1 with the new hull and sideskirts is ABSURD, the BMPT which was by far the worst thing to face now can’t barely do nothing.
It’s only carried by it’s awful damage model and that black whole unmanned turret.
BMP-2M has a 1200mm pen missile.
I am currently sitting at a 74% WR and 2.9 K/D after around 100 games in my SEPv3, I sure do play the Abrams.
I just don’t want the mobility penalty that TUSK brings. And if I’m getting hit by a BMPT missile in the side, that means I have already made a bunch of mistakes and wasted a bunch of resources that could have prevented me from getting hit.
I just don’t need TUSK.
On the SEPv3 and M1A2 trophy the normal sideskirts already protect you from the BMPTs 30mm.
It’s definitely an option now for some that often get shot in the sides by BMPT’s 30mm autocannon and it’s missile.
I think TUSK plates extend further back than side skirts.
Now it’s definitely something to consider for people that want to trade mobility for added protection.
That is a fair point.
In the end it’s preference like you said, I personally find much more value out of the better mobility that you get without TUSK.
and the abrams overall sits in better positions on Statshark than other nations mBTs? xD
The USA winrate right now is 53 percent, best top tier nation there is.
as well as having the best KDs in abrams tanks this month.
going by winrate it’s even more egrorius how good the abrams actually are lol.
I personally prefer being able to withstand BMPT ATGMs and shots to the sides than, what, a 0.5 second acceleration difference and a 1m braking distance one? Hahah
Wow, he actually had to mention the BMP-2M’s 1200 mm. Damn, do you really know that much, or do you just like stating the obvious? Hahaha. And I absolutely loved the part where you said, “I’ve made plenty of mistakes and wasted a lot of resources that could’ve prevented the hit.” What, do you think you’re BPA_Jon or something? Calm down, man—we all know you’re not that good.
Every time there’s a Major Update, someone ignores the long-proven “Flavour of the Month” phenomenon where thousands of experienced players flock to a tree to unlock its new additions, to try and push an agenda.
A tale as old as time.
Also, always with double-standards;
When T-80BVM steamrolled for over a year after release, it was somehow “flavour of the month”, as well as all of the reinforcement additions it’s got over time; LMURs, KH-38s, Pantsirs… but a new Abrams does well barely a week after its introduction, and it’s somehow proof that it’s the best and most OP vehicle in the universe’s existence.
That is the thing, I just don’t get hit by BMPT missiles in the side. If I get hit in the side by a BMPT missile that means I already: A) screwed up my positioning, B) screwed up by letting him get a missile off to begin with and C) screwed up by continuously showing him my side.
And the sideskirts on the new Abrams offer enough protection against the BMPT autocannons anyway.
Nope, but at least I’m not as mid as you.
You like TUSK because it is a safety net that can save you from easily avoidable situations. I prefer to just not get into those situations.
I mean it has always been easily one of the best MBTs, only really behind the 2A7s/122s. People just have less grounds to deny that on.
I guess I don’t play that competitively, hahah. I just push into the objectives and then the enemy into the spawn.
The whole “taking up positions and spending the match hidden to avoid being shot or spotted” thing doesn’t really resonate with me xD.
I GO TOWARDS THE ENEMY
AND IF I DIE, I DIE
That is half of my gameplay loop. I just press W and see where my ADHD brings me.
At close range I can usually get a shot off before a BMPT can fire it’s missiles (and ATGMs at close range are also just annoying to use) and at longer range I have had success with MGing the ATGM.
The biggest difference I’ve noticed is the fixed turret rings!
Unfixed Abrams still get crippled and killed frontally within a second of BMPT spray, it’s ridiculous… but the new Abrams tanks can take a lot of shots before starting to get damaged (still not immune, but MUCH better).
In terms of BMPT, SEPv2 Trophy is basically a blessing. In fact, I’m doing better with it than SEPv3 because, while SEPv3’s most notable improvement was not modelled (hull), Trophy is capable of stopping not just BMPT missiles, but also even some LMURs and KH-38s!
100%. I have gone from fearing the BMPT autocannons in my Abrams to just yolo peeking them since it takes them a long time to actually hurt you.
