If m829a3 makes Kontact 5 inert, and they’re both 12.0 tanks… how does a tank from the late 1980s, early 1990s stand up well against a tank from the early 2010s?

I don’t see any point in playing this game anymore. SEPV3 was the last tank in the game and it didn’t bring anything new. We’re unlikely to see SEPV4 for the next 5-7 years.

M829A3 doesn’t do much in regards to the effectiveness of ERA in game… it amounts to that of a difference of only about 40mm. It is modeled in game, but not much.

Turn off consider vertical angle. Your shooting far lower than an normal abrams fire angle.
The vertical angle makes no difference. Both screenshots are projected from the same angle. The point of my comment was to show the difference between the two cartridges against Contact-5, nothing to do with whether it should penetrate a T-80U or not

At a normal firing angles the difference between the two is still 40-50mm, the difference at range gradually increases…
I don’t understand how you think this is a balancing issue, the M829A2 was already capable of penetrating Contact-5 equipped vehicles. It is an entire bracket above the T-80U and slightly above the B3A… it won’t even face B3s and T-90As unless they are used as backups,. This upgrade is mostly useless in the top tier battle. It doesn’t even offer an improvement against the 11.7 BMPT…

I am at a complete loss, every domestic sep v3 has DU armor that’s not even up for debate. To quote Tank Jesus “one of the most heavily armored MBTs ever produced” I was so confident they would buff the hull armor when they added the v3. I wonder what their excuse will be this time

They occasionally make adjustments on the development server, but never major changes. Never. So don’t expect them to change anything about the Abrams’ armor.
They wont fix the CR2 to be equal or better than the T series tanks so they give UK an M1A2
Ha wont even pen K5…Gaijin M829A2 was proven to penetrate K5 IRL.
Now we have M829A3 and it should easilly penetrate the K5
