Hey man. Not trying to be mean. But what you are saying is PURELY speculation. And even if it isn’t, this is a video game. The Sep V3 needs to be killable. Adding an extra 200mm of protection in the hull makes it, without question, the most well armored tank in game. Pair that with M829A3, Good mobility, and decent targetting, and it just becomes blatantly the best tank in game by a long shot.
Russia gets the benefit of the doubt, and sometimes a little too much (KH38s, BMP-Ts, its ERA being able to defeat 500mm+ APFSDS rounds), but certainly not enough to justify the M1A2 v3 getting a 200mm+ buff to its LFP
EDIT: Also to be fair, every nation at some point gets the benefit of the doubt too much. The F-4E vs. MiG-21s, F-14 vs. MiG-23s, T-58, etc. are good examples for the US. For non US, look at the Leo 2A6, Somua SM on release, Ru 251, TURM III, The Sagitarrio on release, etc. etc. for non US stuff. It just kind of cycles, because as more is released, different balance changes need to occur.
And so where do you get your “estimate” of 400mm of additional KE protection from?
This aside, gaijin has acknowledged this weld-line anyway and improved the protection of the lfp by a generous, yet still reasonable (for what dimensions are provable) amount;
That aside, one of the major improvements of SEPv3 was mine-protection, which this weld-line may very well be related to aswell, this is not proving anything by itself.*
Its all them cheese burgers… Trust me bro its far more reliable then the Type-10s nano twined crystal steel armour that’s totally theoretical and absolutely no publicly available non-classified sources as to its effectiveness…
Unfortunately for you your’ outdated, over priced trash has to face peer equipment in this game, rather then just bullying 3rd world goat hearders that in as many cases as not kick you arses regardless and sent you home tail tucked between your legs, now as much as I would love to salt that point with examples it would be A violation of forum TOS so I will just suggest you look at a little actual history.
It could be- but it also might not be. I wish it were better too, it would be nice to push and not worry as much about enemies one tapping you through the lower hull. But also, simply put, their is no proof. Its just a guess.
The Abrams is becoming an outdated piece of equipment in the American Inventory, being the longest lasting American Tank- 40 some years at this point since it entered service. Assuming it can handle these upgrades isn’t necessarily false, but isn’t necessarily true either. Hence the need for the burden of proof.
440 - 380 = 60mm, not 30.
60mm is a reasonable expectation for the cavity not being physically thicker.
Not happening without the dimensions being notably larger, which you’d see from the weld lines.
What are you talking about? They have never done this. & to claim Russian equipment is perfect is shilling.
This is the declassified armor profiles used to produce BMPT in War Thunder:
Also Relikt is not over-performing; the side mounted ERA use to under-perform tho.
ERA casing, such as that on tech tree BMPT, T-90M Arena, Abrams TUSK pachages, & Challenger 2s can cause over-lapping plate bounces though.
You may not know russian but I do, this here say PRESUMABLY. Doesn’t really sound like a concrete declassified data lmao.
Sources?
Side ERA overperforming as hell, it throws twice as thin single plate (insted of two like in the front hull and turret). Yet it is somehow only 20% less effective than “normal” Relict.
I dunno, the bit where Americans think Russians are still shooting rocks via trebuchets so they never bothered to upgrade it part maybe?
Or how about you prove your point with actual evidence rather than your “America is unbeatable therefore we need buffs” fantasy?
ALSO, I certainly know based on evidence, even though we don’t know the actual measurement/dimensions. The Abrams in it’s current in-game status is not parallel to what it should be.
Source is NATO.
Side ERA is doubled up except on T-72B3A, which would just be a B3A issue & not a Relikt issue.
Also B3A’s Relikt performs ~30 - ~40% worse than doubled-up Relikt.
