M1A2 SEPv3 Tank's Front Armor

M1A2 SEPv3 Tank’s Front Armor

I would like to help Gaijin developers improve the M1A2 SEPv3 in War Thunder.

Whenever questions are raised about this tank’s armor, Gaijin representatives often argue that there is insufficient evidence or publicly available data regarding the Abrams’ armor protection. In response, I would like to share a YouTube video titled “Broń Pancerna Świata | Przedni Pancerz Czołgu M1A2SEPv3” by Damian Ratka. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y-NFxL6IEA

Who is Mr.Ratka : A military technology expert specializing in armored vehicles from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the former Soviet Union. Editor at Defence24.

The video includes evidence, photographs, and documents confirming that the M1A2 SEPv3 received armor upgrades to both the lower front hull plate and the turret. You can enable subtitles and use YouTube’s automatic translation to follow the presentation. The video also directly addresses War Thunder and the developers’ apparent failure to acknowledge the available evidence and documentation. :)

Furthermore, an official US government document published on the US Army Financial Management and Comptroller website confirms that armor upgrades were implemented.

On page 131, P-1 Line #14 , the document states:

“The M1A2 SEPv3 incorporates turret and hull armor upgrades.”

Although the document does not provide exact armor thicknesses or protection values, it explicitly confirms that both the turret and the hull received armor upgrades.

This demonstrates that, with a little effort and time spent researching available sources, it is possible to find documentation supporting improvements to the M1A2 SEPv3’s armor protection.

I kindly ask the development team to review this material carefully, verify its credibility, and assess the available evidence from a technical and historical perspective. I hope this information will help improve the accuracy of the M1A2 SEPv3’s armor modeling in War Thunder.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards.

SepV3 already has improved turret and a hull armour.

The internal composite armor in the game was increased by only 30 mm, whereas in reality, it was increased by approximately 8 inches (200 mm). The weight of the armor also increased by 6 short tons. This is confirmed by photographs and soldiers’ accounts. The photos show new welds, while the additional 200 mm comes from internal modifications to the tank and changes to its overall design.

The newly estimated armor protection values for the tank M1A2SEPv3 are as follows:
~Turret Front: 1,000–1,100 mm
~Hull Front: 800–850 mm
~Turret Side: 400 mm
~Gun Mantlet: 350–400 mm

Unless you can provide credible documentation your estimates are worth nothing.
Go make a bug report about it so it can get rejected.
Also gaijin are never going to make the abrams frontally immune to virtually every munition in the game, you’re insane.
SepV3 has upgraded armour already, that is all.

However, Gaijin already does this with Russian vehicles, implementing them without proper documentation or evidence and making them almost perfect machines. This includes the unrealistic performance attributed to Relikt explosive reactive armor (ERA) and vehicles such as the BMPT.

There is photographic and video evidence from the war, which was supposed to be a “three-day special military operation.” This footage shows the actual performance of the supposedly miraculous Relikt ERA and Russian military vehicles, including the BMPT, revealing their real-world accuracy and effectiveness in combat.

And finally, let’s simply treat all nations equally instead of applying double standards and selectively enforcing different standards depending on the nation.

Russian game.

First, I recommend watching the video mentioned above before addressing the actual points being discussed and have a nice day and good luck in your battles! :)

Speculation is not evidence.

I agree that this should be considered. Improvement should always be sought out for.

And you sound very Russian bias btw Mr. Casino_Knight.

Ah yes, surely the lfp suddenly outperforms the thickest part of a Leopard 2A7V / Strv 122’s upperfront plate without any noticeable changes in dimensions.
Sure

Y’all are literally just throwing out random numbers at this point

Also, feel free to send these photographs

I’d bet on it, after all it’s in your name.

A fool is easily parted with his money.

It is clear you have a bias towards the US as it is almost all you play. So your bias is unsurprising.

A good Thomas Tusser proverb, yet it rejects the point for a figure of speech.

Yes, I do have US bias, because I am an American. And I’d like to see vehicles that represent my country exceed to its highest performance.

What you mean to say is you would like to make your vehicles practically immune to all kinetic munitions from front based purely on speculation and hopium.

We can all rest easy knowing this will never happen.

Even if it was, it was NERA increase, meaning it doesn’t translate to flat 200 RHA equivalent increase in KE protection.

i agreed, barams v3 is very bad tank, weak turrent chicks and pepper hull, rubbish rounds like 3bm46 can pen it. kilo4kilo worst 12.7 ever. should be moved down to 12.0 yet it still suck because object 292 can one-shot it which is a 10.7!

only in game bussian can win, irl turrent flew to moon, bradley destroyed t-90m hehe
