M1a2 sep v3

The SEPv3 will receive better optics, Trophy, Low-Profile RCWS (which will help against HE…at least a little) and better armor which drives its uniqueness. The SEPv3 is the primary variant to receive the Trophy system out of the M1A2 family. Also the M1147 AMP round which should be integrated into the SEPv3 with the cancellation of the SEPv4.

Also, hopefully with the cancellation of the SEPv4 and the creation of the M1E3, there will be a lot more info on it such as its armor, spall liners that are integrated within the composite (which is like almost every other Abrams), LWS, and APS. I’d hate to have another paper tank.

Also for fun…

The unsubstantiated leak of the M1E3 lol.

+1 with T-14 and ZTZ-99A2

Screw the T-14, when do I get my '195.

What better optics does it receive? The only upgrades to thermals on the Abrams was supposed to go with the SEPv4 until that was cancelled, and it’s an entirely new system on the E3.
Unless you mean lens differences, zoom, and so on… I still can’t find a difference.

SEPv2^

Great reason for that, but its still huge.

Why not an option to remove it, though? Many testbeds to the M1A2 SEPv3 based on the SEPv2 removed the RCWS altogether, and you can still see a few select models that lack it entirely.

You don’t need to keep trying to sell me on this, I’ve already agreed that it would be a welcome addition… after current armor is dealt with.

Both the SEPv2 and SEPv3 have been equipped with Trophy, and both are rare occurrences. Commonality makes no difference in design, though.

Again, what purpose would this serve? Do you also want the canister shell to be added?

Its armor, like HAP, can only be estimated in KE/CE effectiveness for the next few decades, just as previous armor generations have been.
That’s called NERA, not spall liners.
You’d hate another paper tank? That’s effectively what the M1A2 SEPv3 is compared to the SEPv2. There’s no addition to it apart from armor that can serve a gameplay difference between the two vehicles… The armor is still a paper figure for every vehicle past the M1A1HC.
The only Abrams in the game that can have the increased hull armor that everyone whines about is the AIMv2, and even then it’s next to impossible to find multiple sources that corroborate the same information.

M1E3 real???

lol the abrams is completely wrong and i dont want stona closing this thread too

PMs are fine, or we can link to off-topic.

trust me it is

SEPv3 is the primary recipient of Trophy. Also the new round?? Why would that not be important

Edit: but yes they both have been fitted with it rarely

“have trust bro”

unlikely the m829a4 pen value is still new gonna have to give a few years or whatever

And the T-55AD was the primary recipient of Drozd, yet we have the T-80UM-2 and T-55AMD instead.

What new round, the glorified canister shot? Again, we already have M830A1 for helicopters, and every other capability it has is useless in WT.

besides its just a game anyway if huge maps arent added im gone and ill play custom battles for the time being til i get bored like in 2019

We already have more knowledge of M829A3 than most other rounds in-game.

The M1147 is a multipurpose round that replaces the M830A1 and all others except the obvious M829. It has multiple purposes not just the one for different programming go meet needs that could add unique new capabilities. As for the hard-kill APS, I’m not going to keep arguing about it because clearly it’s not going to go anywhere. The M1A2 SEPv3 regardless should be fitted with the Trophy upon implementation.

It’s a mix of M908 and M1028… Beyond accommodations for modern use, there’s no telling what kind of warhead it even has, nor what advantages it poses over M908 and M830A1.

Just like the Chally 3, eh?

For someone who says they’re down for the SEPv3 (at least for its armor), you’re dogging on it quite a bit lol

The Challenger 3 (2017 I believe?) in-game is the early tech demonstrator not the TD with the APS installation. The SEPv3’s are actual production and the U.S. also lacks a hard-kill system for its MBT’s.

Because there’s no point in wasting time to add another Abrams when current problems with modelling and mobility.

Seeing as my previous “hard hitter” idea was shot down with the '292 being introduced as an event vehicle, a mass introduction of APS vehicles like the '184-5 and some Abrams variant with APS, as well as a Leo.

id love to see this abrams being added but its just gonna be nerfed/incorrect due to lack of info without proper leaks aiding it unfortunately

but for game sake might aswell add it as is its just a game

It’s still a core part of the Army. 🤷‍♂️ I do understand the issues with modeling and such. It’s highly infuriating what they’ve done (or not done). Can’t even get a damn spall liner because it’s been melded in with the composite armor unlike how others have it integrated. Also it’s unnecessarily loud. However, that shouldn’t stop its implementation. Not to mention, if it has the other capabilities with its new round, etc. it still will be unique. If it gets better armor modeled (hopefully) along with Trophy, it will be a force to reckon with.

What is?

It is there to serve the exact same purpose as NERA in other vehicles. The only reason why it’s implemented in HAP-2 is due to its much higher effectiveness over contemporary materials like rubber, and even more so with it used in conjunction with it.
The only effective spall-liner on the Abrams has been shown to be in the ammunition rack, where with fire-retardant materials it’s somewhat effective.

Not really? You can hear its tracks hundreds of meters before its engine. I just wish they’d model directional sound for vehicle engines and such… they’ve done it with planes without issue.

Sure, if they added an Armored Warfare-esque PvE mode for grinding… Which I doubt they’ll do. The only purpose it would have in-game is for better damage to helicopters.

Much like what I said when this was pledged in 2020, there’s no reason when the previous variants have sub-par implementation.
