M1a2 sep v3

After doing a LOT of digging it’s a SEP v2. However The Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation did release multiple Fiscal Year reports on the testing of Trophy on the SEP v2 and v3. No report was mentioned in their FY24 report which indicates trophy testing was concluded in 2023. The report for 2025 hasn’t come out yet so I don’t know if anything was done last year.

Also this. 29 test shots on SEPV3

I wonder why Trophy is much more common to see than the Iron fist, Iron Fist having a version capable of intercepting even APFSDS 🤔

Isn’t this sep v2 with additional weights?

You’re probably right but where is the supposed “added weights” on the other pic?

Ah, one moment.

Because lobbying. The Trophy is conceptually a mega strange system.

These may be early prototypes, but as you can see,

At some exhibitions, SEPv2 was without counterweights, but it is unlikely that Gaijin will consider this an argument.

Because of reliability. Trophy proves itself in warfare, Iron fist is not yet.

Also existence of ready rounds is something makes Trophy more adorable for armies.

Doubtful

What?

Exactly what I mentioned lol, but knowing Gaijin unless there’s picture/video evidence they won’t accept it as a source. I’m just surprised the SEP v2 hasn’t gotten Trophy yet despite dozens of images existing.

Gaijin really don’t like to rework vehicle models. That’s why I only expect the trophy in v3 or v4. I think v4 is the best option because it will have LWS.

I still think gajin will add rosy on the sep v3. (Coping)

I mean it would be very weird if the next tank in line did not have lws. Thats my logic

So update is a little under a month away. What do we think our chances are for the SEP V3?

You can still see from the geometry of the cheek meeting the mantlet that this is a SEPv2.

Late-prod SEPv2s (2017-current) use the LP-CROWS. Circling that is mostly irrelevant as that is the current commander weapon system for all revamped Abrams models.

You can see quite clearly from the underlying cheek dimensions that this isn’t a SEPv3 turret.

Being “beefed up” isn’t an attribute of SEPv3, this is simply what each and every SEPv2 demonstrator has shown as they lack the SEPv3’s refined suspension setup. To my knowledge the intention of Trophy integration on SEPv3 necessitated an upgrade in suspension design, of which negated any need for weight ballasts.

the SEPv3 is an urban myth atp

SEPv3 already have bigger turret, so why it needs ballast?

But. Main problem. Why RDECOM writes about ballast? Maybe because it’s doc from 2018…

Spoiler

My copium side says this update is the one.

My realistic side sayd maybe in 2 years.

EXCUSE ME? 83 TON! That is one heavy tank holy

(92 short ton ≈ 83 metric ton)

I can guarantee we get SEP V3 in next update after summer update or in summer update.
