the one in the Merkava Mk.4M has -15º/+35º, which is quite limited to intercept a Kh-38MT coming from above.
Iron Fist has way more elevation, -15º/+55º, which is enough to catch a russian ATGM from very above.

Here’s a list of differences:
- Improved gunner’s thermal sights: SEP and SEP v2 currently utilize 2nd gen and the difference between 2nd and 3rd is minimal. It won’t make a significant gameplay impact.
- Gains 3.76 metric tons of weight: Mobility will be impacted negatively.
- Turret cheek and hull nose plate armour improved: Situational improvements. Most players will still aim for the breech, turret ring or sides. The nose plate is also not very likely to reach protection values high enough to defeat 12.7 APFSDS, and the turret cheeks on a standard 1999 M1A2 SEP are already immune to all 12.7 APFSDS head-on.
- Has the option to mount Trophy APS: Adds an additional 2.27 metric tons, bringing the total weight to nearly 70 metric tons. It also is not guaranteed to be added on the SEP v3 because the SEP v2 could’ve just as easily have received it, yet it didn’t. It also does not intercept APFSDS which is your primary threat.
- Has the option to utilize M829A3 and M829A4: Similar story as above, SEP v2 has the same possibility yet didn’t end up receiving them.
The M1 CATTB would IMHO be better suited to serve as a ‘revitalization’.

Again, they may or may not add. There’s also SEPv4 with Lws, but no one has seen it with Trophy

They won’t add it, as they haven’t modelled the type of penetrators in game.
M829A2 rips through the T90M anyways bar in the UFP so what’s the issue?
M829A3 and A4 have the DU penetrators no? which penetration is not counted for in game, L28A1 is a good example of another round which IRL would work slightly better but is not included in game becuase of modelling.
As well as this, if they gave M829A4 to USA you realise USSR, and other nations would get something comparable to keep up.
They wouldn’t give a round to abrams with a 5 second reload that would what? be up at 740 odd MM of penetration, without giving Russia, Germany, Britain , Japan etc a comparable round.

the thing is there isnt really comparable rounds for a lot of nations, eg iirc USSR could only get 3BM59 with like <5% more pen than 3BM60

Think people don’t realise we’re hitting about as far as ground vehicle top tiers can go tech wise.
You’re also forgetting CR2 for example would be left completely in the dust, SHARD would need to be added to leclerc, if it was even possible just to make them competitive.
Gaijins daft with a few things, but they won’t give one or two nations access to a much better round whilst leaving the others behind.
Again hence why I say balance.
That or they’ll bring the pen of A3 /A4 down closer to that of A2 making it largerly irrelevant anyways.
You cannot tell me the US are struggling with teh highest penning round out of an L/44 cannon. A4 isn’t really needed.

A3 and A4 just need to be effective against ERA, they dont need to have lol pen (as they dont have, M829A3 in simulations is estimated to have less than 700mm of pen). If they dont model the anti-ERA capability, theres no point putting them in game.
Also, would you call M829A4 unbalanced if added rn? Abrams is one of the weakest MBTs armor wise in game, adding M829A4 would just make them pen UFP of T-80BVMs and T-90Ms as easy as they pen the Abrams FP
