M1a2 sep v3

I tought that we were talking about the M1A2 SepV2 and the Leo 2A7 for top tier exclusively because the thread is about the sep V3

But it’s not because gajin only wants to give russia the best versions of their tanks.

Not exactly true, the T-72B3A Gaijin gave us isn’t even the T-72B3A but the T-72B3M 2017 Arena-M testbed.

But almost every other tank russia gets is the best verison, for exampel the sep v2 should have gotten the trophy aps from the beginning and m829a3

I may be very wrong on this so call me out if im wrong for it but the sep v2 could also receive a lws i think…

Seems I got here in the middle of an argument. Anyways, circa fiscal year 2026 or before, a program is going to start to add a LWS, signature reduction tech, active protection systems, and top attack passive protection to tracked armored vehicles. Although it was not stated specifically the Abrams, it is likely it will be included in the program. The passive top attack armor is supposed to be installed on “all combat vehicles,” so it will likely at a minimum be getting that.

On what abrams???
Some sep v2s have trophy aps
And the sep v3 comes with it as standard

Ah hem, “tracked combat vehicles.” It doesn’t specifically say Abrams, but is of high likelihood that both the M1A2 SEPv3 and M1A2 SEPv2 will be included. And M1A2 SEPv3s don’t all come with Trophy, but all can mount it. Trophy isn’t always needed, so it isn’t exactly standard, but it’s all standard mounting capabilities. If anything, the APS part can be seen as a sign of wider adoption of the system.

All tanks are missing something, I’m sure Gaijin did it that way for the Abrams so they could add another variant.

The same document also says that, yes, the M1A2 SEPv3 has improved turret and hull armor compared to older versions, but also didn’t specifically say DU hull armor.

Someone tried to calculate the armor values

I know the M2A4E1 has some of these. i also heard of a contract for the Abrams to get top attack protection, so i think it is basically certain Abrams gets these

That isn’t a whole lot, seeing as the base Grifel round effectively matches Vacuum. What I’d be more worried about is the 2A83…

I’m honestly questioning whether the armor array in its entirety uses DU or not. Right off the line there are SEPv3s being shelved out to other countries without any modification, which wouldn’t be possible with current shipping standards if DU were present.

The m2 bradley would be nice to have, and perhaps the m3a3 with ERA would be cool to…

I should always take everything with a grain of salt but I actually think they have DU

Anyway what do you guys think will be in the next update, i know it’s hard to say but realistically speaking what do yall think is gonna come in the next update?

I am yet to see a SINGLE production SEPv3 brandishing Trophy.

Seeing as Quad even gave the budget count with the quite clear statement of “VPS is a new start in FR 2026”… I’d wager to say the SEPv3’s trophy suite doesn’t exist as of now and is coming to be in the works.

How’s that?

My bad

Idk i think Ive just watched to many videos and read to many pages online of people saying it comes with it…

Like everywhere online it says it has it but sure it doesn’t mean i should trust it, at the same time why would they say it has it. To make people belive the tank is good??
Doesn’t really serve any tactical advantage.

Why?

M1’s with M829A2 + 5sec reload speed already provide them with the 2nd best firepower of any vehicle in the entire game. That is somehow still not enough?

The general consensus online is that it took four Shermans to knock out a Tiger.
That is of course complete nonsense.

As always, try and find a primary source and do not blindly go off of what other people online have to say.

Tbh M829A3 and onwards would only realistically come if ERA isn’t just modeled as add-on armor. Due to engine limitations it can’t be modeled as true ERA, thereby making the “anti-ERA” portion of the rounds useless. Gaijin could compensate by giving it more RHA pen but that brings its own problems.

I’m not too sure about that, it seems like it could be done given what’s already in-game.

Composite armour is already modeled to offer different resistance values against different APFSDS designs, surely the same could be done to ERA.
