It physically cannot reduce spall of a plate succeeding it. There is no way for it to prevent a penetrator from producing more spall on a plate succeeding it, and lastly, it will not “catch” spall as bolt-on spaced liners are made to do.

That isn’t how this process works. Either the kevlar inserts are proven to reduce spall into the crew compartment, or it isn’t.
