Have you seen the video where the DM11 flew into the side of the T90 or T72?
In the video there were no signs of contact armor counter-reaction to the DM11 impact!
The crew was lucky to survive, at least the driver.
Because Russian tanks normally have the habit of throwing away the turret when hit.

I didnt, just as you didnt see call out on the video claiming theres no explosives in russian ERAs, but as you said, lets get to topic.

Im just making suggestion of artilery pieces that could be added, yes TTs can be big, but artilery pieces are rare to find, if everyone got some artilery pieces, it would only open up new room to add some.
Britain can get AS-90, Italy can get PzH2000, Germany can get PzH2000 and SP-70, Japan can have Type -99, France can get AMX30 AUF F2, USSR can get 2S19 (maybe even 2S35 but unlikely)
You can add things to list, just a suggestion.

The option already exists today, but there are only a few usable cards for it.
We optimistically have maybe 5 maps in the game that would allow the use of indirect fire.
Too many small maps and too many city maps.
So basically going into direct fire combat with a huge tank again, which isn’t any fun either.

Thats true, though what to go in into battle is choice of a player, artilery would be situational, just as most TDs are.

Im not talking about a system like WOT, I personally don´t like it, IRL the artillery obiously don´t work like in WOT

I know at first hand what happen to a tank when you shoot an 155mm 45kg (8kg of TNT) HE to the face but in game doesn´t work like is needed that´s why I want an indirect fire system or a self spotting drone.
And yes we have scout drones in game who can help Atillery tank with long range shots but sadly in game the artillery tanks doesn´t have the abillity to use drones, thats why im talking about some semi-real artillery system. In game the artillery are presented like a face to face tank destroyer and this put you on a tremendous disadvantage (for now due the game doesn´t work like is needed to face and oblierate enemy tank with an 155mm howitzer) and since the in game map are designed for face to face combat wich is not bad but not realistic at all.
That´s why I talk about some special further spawn zone for cold war era SPH who can shoot indirectly to a zone of the map, I did that with the Type 75 SPH on top tier when the map is huge and I can tell you I kill at least 2 tanks and without Laser Range finder (playing with a friend who mark me where the enemy are where having drones for SPH tanks can solve this issue).
And yes a system for Indirect Fire need to encounter a balance within the game but having CAS on ground battles is going to be eaasy to counter the artillery.
So in the game are the resources already but Gaijin dont put it together to make the SPH more playeable. And thats why I want some type of Indirect fire system or some spotting system for SPH tanks wich in real life and real combat they are in batteries of 3, 4, 5 or more SPH and indirect fire the enemy when a “spotter” or allied tank/infantery call for a strike in X, X, X. Coords.
So a self spotting drone can be a step foward for a more playeable style for SPH tanks.

Sweden has had the Bkan in the techtree for a long time now.

I never said id didn’t have any at all, i’m just saying that other nations are getting a second one, so why would Sweden not also get their second one?

Sweden already has two, and by far the best one. They’re also unique and not just copy pasted over several trees.

Why would Sweden get its third artillery when a bunch of others are only getting their first one?

dude, my entire thing and point is based on the base tree. i didn’t count any nations premium artillery.
and my point was to have put the VIDAR, Sweden’s SECOND artillery, in the base tree INSTEAD of as a premium last update. did you even read all of my posts or just that one and immediately write?

if counting premiums then you can add several artilleries to some of those nations getting their “first”…

There are no other premium artilleries in the game yet. Only one event one, the Lorr 155. And that prem arty is by far the best in the entire game.

Yes, Swedens second artillery is a prem, but anyone else’s second artillery is a copy paste across multiple nations. Italy gets TWO copy paste artilleries, USSR’s second artillery is their first in a bit worse, Britain’s is, same as Italy, only going there because it gets copied among FIVE trees for easy content without effort. Meanwhile, Sweden gets two very unique vehicles for artillery.

I would much rather have a copy paste vehicle in the normal tree than something unique that is behind a paywall that many people can’t get.

Absolutely correct, i never said it isn’t there. i just want it accessible for everyone and not just people that are able to spend money.

one massive point as to why it should not be behind a paywall, this is making it very close to pay to win.

main issue: many nations getting a free base tree artillery while Sweden got its last artillery added as a premium behind paywall. especially when Sweden has had VERY few interesting things added to its tech tree for a long time compared to many other nations that has gotten a lot more new and interesting vehicles already in their base trees.

This update MANY nations get an artillery.
last update USSR got the 2S1 in base tree.
update before that France got the AMX-30 Au F1 in base tree
Meanwhile Sweden’s new artillery gets paywalled.

The last time Sweden actually got something interesting for ground was almost a year ago in “fire and ice”. sure, it was A LOT of good things but the other nations have gotten a lot during the rest of the year as well.
it just absolutely sucks that when Sweden finally gets something interesting again they put it behind a paywall whilst other nations get theirs put in the base tree.

“Most War Thunder players - about 80% - have never paid a dime into a game”
this means that 80% of players wont/can’t play the VIDAR.

They have to add prems once in a while for their profit. If this game gave you everything for free with no reason to spend money, it would not exist.
If you want to play a copy paste, play it in one of those 5 trees that got it.

While it is the best one, I wouldn’t call it pay2win since it’s also 2.0 BR higher than most arty (and at least 1.3 higher than the second highest), so it also has to face much, much stronger opponents. It would only be pay2win if it’s also 6.0-6.7 like the other arties.
It will also go up even further, because Gaijin started it out too low, either out of incompetence or ill will to actually make it a little p2w from the start, which is indeed a terrible move, I’ll give you that. should’ve already been higher on arrival. But it will go up for a couple of BR change patches, probably.

Because Sweden already had a very unique and interesting artillery piece, and still has the most unique one. This patch mostly gave 3 nations that still had none one and gave it to just 2 more countries because they had it and Gaijin probably didn’t have anything else ready to give to Italy or Britain.
(USSR already had 2 last patch, but guess what, it’s the favourite child)
It’s not like they could’ve given Sweden the M109 either, because they never used it. Norwegen did, but those are relegated to premium vehicles, and you certainly didn’t want another arty to end up as premium right?
Besides, people would’ve probably been upset if Sweden got only arties two patches in a row.
Just wait for the future, they never said Sweden is never going to get another arty. And only 3 out of the 8 nations have 2 TT arties, one of them doesn’t even have a unique one (Italy), so Sweden doesn’t stand out on that one either.

Because they got their paywalled artillery last update and have had a unique one for way longer than most of the nations that get one this update.
France got the AuF1 because they had NONE. Before last patch, Italy had NONE.
Same for Germany, Israel, USA. NONE up until the patch drops.

The only update they didn’t get anything interesting for the tech tree was last update, because the Pvkv IV is kinda meh.
The updates before they got the CV9030 FIN, ItPsV 90 and T-55M. All fun and interesting vehicles imo.

It’s their CHOICE not to play the VIDAR. Playing a game as massive as WT that has been constantly updated for over 10 years without paying a single dime and then complaining about something like a second arty for a nation being paywalled is absolutely pathetic. Hundreds of hours of enjoyment FOR FREE and you lament about tiny things like this.

Are we ever going to get indirect fire added for artillery vehicles? I feel like it’s getting extremely awkward and rather difficult to balance artillery especially as we get more and more modern-era SPG added to the game that still can’t use the main intended role or function it was meant to be used for on the battlefield. (I.E: firing from way behind friendly cover, meaning they can also target locations or areas rather than individual units at one time).
