it cant just be me or is the M1 gas turbine so quiet it keeps sneaking up on me i can hear every other engine perfectly fine but that gas turbine. I remember not to long ago you could hear them coming from a mile away now you dont hear jack. I assume they lowered its noise and put it to low or is it really that quiet in real life.
They recently update the sound again, now all we hear is the noise of tracks and other metallic noise, as far as I observe it’s hard to tell if it was an Abrams closing in, the turbine noise is completely masked by the tracks noise unless it’s within 150m then I can indentify the engine noise. Now I can only tell if its Leopard 2 or BMPs lol

It is pretty quiet from the front. I think this is more accurate. I know there was a better video to show it’s sound I will see if I can find it.

It’s accurate, and this shows how a accurate War Thunder could bring more negative thoughts than positive ones, which I support for a more realistic game regardless, lower engine noise is one of the benefits, intentional or not, of the M1 Abrams’ engine.
The Abrams is hard to hear irl so this is accurate.
To be fair it is a VERY quiet tank and usually the tracks overbear the engine
