hi all!
recently i purchased the M1 Click-bait and i am using a squadron M1 AIM with it.
I have noticed that the gunner’s sight feels weird, and seeing that my hull down position is not really hull down, i realised that the sight is way too low.
seems unlike other MBTs from Germany or USSR (which i play usually), the tank is not using its unity sight, rather its using the optic next to the gun.
i also captured this footage:
as you can see i was not able to see the BMP through gunner’s sight (!), which is super duper strange.
is it a bug, or M1 tanks generally have a different gunner’s sight than other MBTs?
this pretty much stops me from using the M1 in hull down, because i want to see the target through my sight, i would expose too much of my tank.
any help is greatly appreciated!
also, seems when i use the tank in “test drive” mode, this issue isn’t there, it only applies to the actual battles!
The Default aiming view is from the tank’s barrel.
You can change this to the gunners optic by using the Camera from tank gunner sight toggle in the main settings tab.

have you guys checked this yourself, or just saying from your experience?
because im telling you, there is defo a difference between my Leopard 2A4 and M1 AIM when i aim down the sight. one is above, and the other is too low.
and as i said, in test drive mode the gunner’s sight looks normal, its just in-game that is different!
ok, i just tried now, and can confirm that switching gunner’s sight from the options does not work!.
meaning there is no change what so ever.
if you could try out yourself and confirm, i believe its a bug.
Jr. Dev at Gaijin: “Hey we haven’t rigged the gunner’s sight camera for the Click-Bait yet.”
Sr. Dev at Gaijin: “Thats okay, no one uses gunner’s sight except sim players.”
Product Tester at Gai… Wait, just kidding. That would be you and I.
It’s probably happening because Leopard’s gun is at a higher position compared to the Abrams.
Ok by watching your video i see that you use the “shoot from gun barrel postion” option. The coax is shooting from the top right postion. If you switch it in options you will see that the coax is now shooting from the left bottom.
The Leo2A4 has a indipendend commander sight that M1 and A1 variants dont have that is even futher above the tank. From the A2 variant of the M1 tank teh commander gets a indipendend sight.
Commander is both tanks have the option tho to see throu teh gunner optics thermals wher the gunner is looking. I hope this asnwers your question. From looking where teh rtacers are comming all is in order. Maybe the zoom is a littel stronger and you cant see the barrel as diffrence.
