M-346FA Needs some changes to be relevant

In it’s current state, the new M-346FA Master is not relevant at all. It’s Derby missiles places it too high of a BR for it’s flight model, and 12.3 in ground without fire and forget ordinance is not really usable with the AA systems present. I see some options to make it relevant, outlined in the poll. According to a post I made during the dev server (M-346FA has armament options missing), there are armament options missing.

For option 2, I am aware that no aircraft with Fox-3 missiles (Apart from the AIM-54A) is below 13.0, but this one has such poor flight performance for it’s BR it would make sense. Kinda like how the A-10A has AIM-9Ls at 10.3.

Open to better suggestions than the ones I listed.

  • Add Spice 250 + AIM-9L/I, keep current BR
  • Move BR down to 12.7/12.0 with current loadout
  • Remove Derby, Add AIM-9L/I, Move to 11.7 for both air and ground

It’s sad to see such a cool little aircraft be punted into the void with it’s BR.

Why would a Italian plane use a German made missile… That wasn’t exported iirc

based on this comment: M-346FA has armament options missing

probably needs verifying. Otherwise, AIM-9M.

Spice 250s are needed to make it useful outside air arcade & air sim.
Derbys need to stay to keep it semi-useful in air RB.

AIM 9Li were widely exported in Europe.
The first airplane to mount it in italian service was the F-104 ASA-M

I dont think spice would even make it usable at 12.3 when you have far better options at the same br. Moving it down to 12.7/12.0 seems like the best idea considering it only carries derbys and not aim120s. If not 11.7, 11.7 would be the best option if it had its derby removed but according to gaijin the brimstone requires a 12.3 br so i very much doubt well see either options as long as it keeps brimstones…

It would probably be 12.0 with aim 9m/li

AiM-9Li was exported to a Bunch of different nations? they were even produced in License in Japan
