The M-10 Brooker is a light “not a tank” made by General Dynamics Land Systems that boast a powerful 105 mm M35 Cannon. Though in can’t really find any specifications on rounds I think a earlier version or a still in testing would be a nice addition to the game as either an event vehicle or as a tech tree.
Probably anything in the lastest US 105mm arsenals.
Doesn’t it keep a common chassis as the British AJAX IFV scout. Additive fabrication hulls.
Trying to think for incentives for optimizing Developer fabrication time for both.
It should go into the tech tree. The shown prototype is apparently what is going to production.
Other options include the AMPV’s , -TM (Turreted Mortar) & SHORAD demonstrator(s).
To help fill out relevant Support roles that the US tree lacks.
M900A1 APFSDS and a 105 AMP(think M830A1 in-game)
Also, it’s already been suggested and passed
M830A1 is for the 120. The 105 AMP round isn’t ready, as far as I know.
Right, but it will be by the time the M10 is fully fielded.
M830A1 isn’t even the current round for 120, it’s M1147
would be a cool light tank
they can get stuffed with the whole “its not a tank” thing.
Its a tracked armoured carriage with a direct fire canon and enclosed turret, that’s a tank
Technically, going off of the role they want it to play, it’s an assault gun.
Then we can have the M8 AGS with a similar 105 mm that is classified as a light tank
I’d rather just have the current M8 get the round it’s supposed to be carrying, instead of its current fantasy load.
I’d love to see this in game but it’s hard to properly implement brand new vehicles when there is a lot of unknown or classified information and it could receive many changed early in production leading to a lot of extra work for the devs to update it. It’s better to wait for it to be a more established vehicle so the in game version can be as accurate to real life as possible. There’s also the possibility of the project being cancelled (unlikely in this case).
War Thunder doesn’t care what vehicles are classified as in real life as evident by the numerous self propelled artillery guns they call ‘tank destroyers.’ Also the M10 is most likely not being classified as a light tank to get congress to approve funding for it.
More of an Infantry tank role IMO
true. the amount of cruisers tanks called light tanks and infantry tanks called mediums in the British tree is impressive. blatant misunderstandings of a vehicles role is common
It’s not a misunderstanding, they know what the real life classifications were but theres no real reason to add those as separate categories in game
Something something about “game balance”.
giving a medium spotting and a heavy artillery is balance?
it would be a pretty balanced considering the highest BR light tank is 11.7, I personally think that it would be a good start for higher BR light vehicles that isn’t just missile spam.
Thank you.
