The J6K1 needs to be 6.3., it being at 6.7 gives you a 80% change of a up tier into the jets. And the J6K1 is just a piston plane that does have good firepower, but doesn’t have the speed to nearly do anything aginist jets unless you take it into a group of jets and hope and pray it goes good and nobody sees you, otherwise they’ll just turn away and run then come back from above. It is indeed a older event vehicle but I do believe it’s needed still as people still get it from crates and marketplace. at 6.3 it at least has the chances of not getting up tier nearly as often due to the other piston fighters at 6.3.

It’s one of those, outstanding in one area, mediocre in most, that’s difficult to balance. If it were tech tree it would probably be removed as it’s no more real than the Ho-Ri. As an event vehicle it doesn’t matter so much, but I guess they could remove it from future loot boxes?
It could go down to 6.3/6.0 but as the majority of users will be vets I suspect it’s overall performance will prevent that.
It’s not like the Ho-Ri at all, the “sloped Ho-Ri” we have in game is based on nothing but an image of a small wooden model, there is literally nothing else known about it except the gun, and the Ho-Ri production is completely made up by Gaijin since even the gun is fictional.
The J6k had very detailed full sized mock-up documented, the engine was built and tested and a bunch of parts were constructed as well.
Mock-up is not adequate to judge actual flight performance. This vehicle is just as paper as the Ho-Ri. Until you put something in the air there was just no telling how it will react, particularly by 1940’s standards.

The main assets of the zerstorer are the MK 103 guns, the properties of which are very well known. Surely you can see that the task of reasonably modelling those on a known chassis is an ocean away from modelling an aircraft without it’s flight characteristics being known.

Why am I being a hypocrite? I have no problems if Gaijin want to remove the Zerstorer for non-historicity, nor if they want to leave the J6K1 as is. I’m just pointing out that the problems of both are not equivalent.
