This is the longest range Skyflash kill I’ve ever had.
I’m glad the opponent didn’t even try to dodge because that missile basically ran out of energy by the time it hit them lol
What’s the longest range kill you’ve had with a missile that technically should not have been able to kill anything at that range? This 20km shot was hilarious, but I’ve managed a few 50km kills with the R27ER on the Su-33 already. One of which was on an F-4S that was pretty clueless and the other was on an F-14 that was too high up to make any meaningful maneuvers.
I’ve hit 50km ER launches on Rafales and Typhoons 😭

My longest range kill was 60ish km with a Aim-120C5 in the Typhoon. Actually it was a double kill, killed 2 with that volley.
But I’ve gotten multiple kills at 20 or so km with the Skyflash ST on the F3.
Honestly I usually just hold my Skyflash STs back until they’re within 10km. This was the first time I attempted a 20km shot because my intention was to force him to break lock to try and dodge it. And still hit him even after my own radar broke lock lol
Yeah, it very much varies, if I can fire later, I will, but I often go looking for low level base bombers and I’m usually at medium alt. The alt gives the range to fire out a bit further if I want

60km with the er using the good old tws start on an f4s, he was like 30km but the time it hit tho. The skyflash it my max range has been 30km but that was on a guy gunning it to a base and i just got lucky the mp didnt effect it. But these are on offs and they just dont happen that often. Both times on premium players so i assume they just didnt know what they were doing.
Still counts. I love chucking an ER at an F-14 that’s lettings his contrails expose his position so I can force him to reposition. I’ve shut down a couple Fakour volleys like that.
My longest range kill, relative to normal engagement ranges, has gotta be a 12.1km front aspect AAM-3 shot. Given thats 3-4x the missile’s reliable engagement range.
Beaides that I have had more than a few 36km~ ish Aim-7M kills, although most my kills with it are actually very close range (sub 3km).
My absolute longest was a 54km AAM-4 shot against a IRIAF, lol.
my longest kill was with an aim-120B with the FA2 harrier at 40KM.
i wouldnt dream of using a skyflash beyond 6km but this mad lad only went and did it at 20km

Ground Crews must’ve stuffed some of the finest tea in its motors before mounting it to the aircraft.

Nah, my maddest was 20km when they first added the skyflash dogfight, i assumed it had longer range than the 7e so i just sent it at a guy 20km away, although this was back when they first added pd radars where the way to dodge sarh missiles was to roll before they hit lol. How times have changed.

been trying to get that 30km shot with the TEMPs and god damn is it hard. You require the enemy to basically be going in a perfectly straight line for it to even have a chance, almost got a 40km snipe on an f16 on the Afghanistan map but i was at 10km alt and he was on the deck. All he had to do to dodge it was turn slightly left lol.
