+1 With the addition of more and more interceptor aviation it would be a shame to not have this thing in the game at some point, hell, even as a squadron vehicle.

To be fair if you try to turn in this thing your wings will rip. The missiles you will face where developed to counter your speed and height. Add insult in your missiles will suck and Gaijin will have to find an excuse for missiles that might be a little better. There is a 90% chance of this being an event plane.

Most countries could, and the alternative is it will be 50% cool and unique event vehicles that are all gonna blow up on the gaijin market or never have coupons to begin with and to salt the wound the event was completely insane and requires u to play WT like a job — oh wait

It’s would practically be a f104 but better so idk why you would try to dogfight in it(it’s a interceptor not like a f14 design to also dogfight. ) and the aim47 was tested with the YF12A max speed the aircraft’s ability to launch missiles at high Mach numbers was a key part of its design and operational capability. the AIM-47 achieved several kills against QB-47 target drones. seven guided launches would be attempted from the YF-12A prototypes, resulting in six kills. The lone miss was attributed to a missile power failure.
Also with only three missiles and no cm (other than the incorporated electronic countermeasures like its powerful Hughes G18 radar )I pretty sure it would be 10.3(because the mig25 is at 10.3)-13.0

The main problem with the YF-12A ingame would probably be the VERY limited performance envelope, between the 145 knots stall speed, 500 knots maximum indicated airspeed and 2G maximum operational load factor (as in, the plane structure snaps at 3G), so even if gaijin was as lenient with the load factor limitations as it has been with the mig-25, it would still struggle to do a full turn within most maps in war thunder…

needs to be in the game like the mig-25
People forget you will need to turn not for dog fighting but to get targets and not to fly over the map borders and get that speed reduction. You are also massive so radar will find you first.
Still should be added as a lol 😝 but you get what you get. Don’t be sad when it can’t do what you wish it to do. That is why for the winter event I did not grind the jet and went for the battleship as it’s a good investment in time.

Yeah, I want to see this but I won’t be playing it. It would have to get a special air spawn high speed and altitude or people will easily counter it in these small maps while it tries to climb or turn

People want it and want it to do things it can’t do like the mig 25. Mig 25 can’t do it this won’t as well. You need to turn to fight effectively in game. Not for dog fights but to notch missiles and target your missiles. This plane will drop the ball and people will have to get ready for that if added.

Just like the MiG-25 is should be an event vehicle. Or placed as a tech tree F-12A to face the MiG-31 when it comes into the tech tree. Just as a comparison aircraft in terms of speed (though quicker it will have worse weapons and radar obviously compared to the MiG-31).

its turn worse than the mig25, heavy fuel consumption and mid weapons.
all love for that aircraft but in the current maps ranges. it will be just a useless / free target.
kinda like prop bombers, just a free target that has a 1/10 chance to get a kill or bomb a base
