The amount of research they need to put into just one vehicle can take a long time, and they’ll also need to model and implement any new armaments.
Not to mention how long it takes to model both the exterior and interior cockpits, which they don’t need to do with tanks. Flight performance also takes a lot of time to work out, as tanks mobility performance isn’t as extensively modeled as aircraft as.
Edit: reminder that we only just got the F-14 823 days ago, and we got the F-15C MSIP II relatively recently. We’re going at quite the fast pace man… next stop F/A-18 :D

I think it should have been in the game for a long time, since this plane is from 1997, we now have in the game aircraft from 2014 and air defense from 2008. If the United States does not have normal modern air defense, then give us modern fighters.
