Loaning/renting crews and their vehicle to friends

A random shower thought came to my mind, I personally wouldn’t benefit from it but I’m sure a lot of newbies would and it would also encourage newbies to explore what war thunder has to offer once they grind up further.

TL;DR: Basically, a player could offer their crew slot and (And the vehicle paired with the crew slot) to a squad member. The owner of that crew slot and vehicle will lose that crew slot/vehicle for a period of time and costs are split 50-50 between owner and recipient.

It sucks when you want to do a specific rank, someone you’re playing with doesn’t have a vehicle suitable for that rank (e.g. they only have americans, and americans are overpopulated in the game at the moment, so the only way to get reduced queue times is if you both play the minor nations).

It would also would serve as a means of “test driving” a vehicle in a competitive online battle without literally lending them your account (which breaks EULA)

To limit exploitation, it could probably be done with a complex set of rules such as:

  • RP rewards are penalised (if awarded at all, since the primary purpose of this is the experience, not to skip the grind)
  • 50-50 costs are billed to the owner of the vehicle/crew slot and the recipient (to reduce cost in case the recipient lacks SL)
  • recipient must play on the same team (not nation) as the loaner in the same game as part of a squad (no cross-fighting especially in air SB)
  • there can only be one recipient at any given time
  • vehicle rent has to be reauthorised every 2 hours, a single vehicle and its associated crew can’t be loaned out more than 2 hours worth in a month
  • recipients can’t use a loaned crew/vehicles for more than 6 hours worth a month
  • if players leave the squad then the loan/rent link is broken and returns to the owner, recipient loses access to that vehicle [spoiler](unable to rejoin with squads with disconnections needs to get fixed though)[/spoiler]
  • loaner can’t loan out vehicles with a rank more than 2 higher than the average squad’s current (pre-loan) rank
  • loaner would lose access to the vehicle/crew for the duration outside of custom battles.
  • loaner doesn’t have to play the same nation as the crews offered to squad members

It adds more trouble than it brings benefits.

And if that is the logic, the idea is dead anyway, because you are now liable for what the receiver does. Which is outside your control, unless you cheese to begin with.

Is the other user using the same hardware on dozens of other locators pointing to you?
You wouldn’t be banned for loaning to a cheater, you’d be banned for cheating and both accounts being obviously yours.

So you give 11.3 tank to friend, he gets stomped by bmpt spam. Or you give him prem fa18 which is just food for su30mk2/mkk. Most likely they will lose any motivation to grind stuff and wouldnt buy top tier premiums. Gaijin will just lose big money so this feature isnt going to be added.
