Tried it about 11 hours back and it worked after restarting the launcher 5 times. Now even after 8 restarts, I’m still not able to see modes. Almost a half a day problem but as usual no word from gaijin

The VPN will be using another firewall setup than the usual with your normal connection.
You need to make the game clear to go through private and public networks. Rather than VPNing it, fix your connection properly.
You’re just pinging the web server with that, but the other side of this is if you are in the US, there’s a storm causing trouble there as well.

Same thing here. Was fine yesterday. Updates today on laptop and suddenly keep getting popup of operation timed out and now stuck loading modes. I’ve messed with firewall, advanced settings w/ inbound & outbound, verifying files, and even uninstalled and reinstalled now. Still stuck on desktop loading modes and can’t get into a game.

THE GAME IS BRICKED! Worked yesterday and can only play a few games in the Great War event.
Even then, it did not record points correctly. I can’t play normal modes at all.
Kinda sucks.
Have you tried restarting your router to get a fresh IP?

I had it be a solution to another game in the past few days myself.
having the same issue I was able to play with a friend for a while then it timed me out
this does not resolve the issue. I tried this. Looking at the outage map there appears to be something happening on the NA servers, I tried switching to EU servers but i cant escape out of loading modes
Did you actually check the IP had in fact changed?
yep, i tried switching to eu and cis servers after changing my ip address by restarting the router. Sadly it didnt resolve the issue, which appears to be server sided. looking at downdetector for us and other countries it appears to exclusively impact na players
I am also having an issue with this, was working fine yesterday, had a friend log in to check and he also is experiencing the same issue, so this isn’t just something related to our side at this point.
i hope warthunder compensates us NA players for this lost time. My daily objective for today was getting 40 critical hits (i got 39/40 right before servers crapped out) and then i obviously cant participate in great war

With consideration to their track record, I doubt they would extend it, and honestly even if they did I may not be able to get the points in time; which is difficult for us that only have a limited window to do these coinciding with our daily lives… but you never know.
Since the major update, and subsequent ‘fixes’ I feel like we have only dug our holes deeper with issues that keep popping up as well as new ones now, pretty sad really.

Considering how increasingly anti-consumer they’re becoming, I wouldn’t expect any compensation. All you’re gonna get is the corporate equivalent of a “oops my bad” from stona and an immediate post lock. I’d honestly be surprised if they extended the great war event for their screwups.
First they’re dishonest about the doge pack and now this. They’re always finding new ways to stifle any goodwill they garner. Been here for over 10 years at this point, same ole same ole. So disappointing, just want to play.
