LMURs are useless after the update

Honestly I think the only real reason it was worse than any others is that the Pantsir is SACLOS and can kill the other helis if they get lazy and don’t terrain mask, sure the LMUR might have a higher chance to instant kill, but a AH-64E dose have 16 missiles and can double tap each target.
I’ve actually had more problems with the Chinese helis than the NMs or 64Es for what ever reason.

I tested it yesterday and didn’t have any of the issues the OP mentions, the only difference is that the HE warhead sometimes just cannot get through ERA, not really an issue on a Russian vehicle, maybe there will be a point to TUSK ARAT ERA now? but it still has top attack so probably not.

So far the best countermeasure is playing another BR or just not playing the game.

Would it be possible to swap your eight LUMR missiles for the eight BA11 missiles equipped on the Z-10ME if you find the LUMR unsatisfactory?☺️☺️

Can we kick helicopters sitting at helipads lauching lmurs? I don’t wanna play with them or entertain them bro

is that so? well why dont we test this against cm-502?

But yeah, LMUR is just so bad…

Not really lol, kh31s + kh38s have made top tier unolayable

No what they did was bring LMURs down to parity with other FnF helicopters and its munitions, thats why Lofting angles got reduced this major update, its why the warhead got changed from SAP to HE (or the other way around) forgot which was which but it lead to a nerf.

You also for some reason dont want to mention how literally on statshark for 6 months+ straight it has the highest Kills per Death and Kills per Spawn vs all other FnF heli’s. That was MAINLY because of the lofting angles prior to the nerf, which saw it see 60 degree+ AoA’s, making almost every hit a guaranteed kill or disabled to a point the 2nd one would kill.

Then you have the magical force field of anti IR missiles even though Python 5 and 9X should be immune to that bs thanks to IIR seekers but hey, thats not exclusive to the MI28NM problems. but such bs modelling of systems is partly why the MI28NM was #1 for months+ Then we have the god awful ARH problem with helicopters because gaijin refuse to model Rotary blades as having RCS and if you dig into the code and understand a little, Helicopters literally have a smaller RCS vs recon drones (let that sink in for a second)

But dont sit there and argue MI28NM complainers were overexaggerating its performances, they werent, you just lived under a rock or played Russia or had Russia on your team so much you didnt see the problems LMURs were actually causing vs balance.

MITL will again shift the balance to far in the wrong direction because god forbid, helis sitting 10m of the ground using MITL missiles with infinite re-arming is surely balanced while being fully out of sight, immune to IR missiles and basically invisible to ARH missiles when that low to the ground due to multipathing/RCS coding.

Great, now nerf them again with all the other F&F weapons AND fix IRCM AND rotor PD returns.
All the other F&F weapons don’t stop being OP just because one of them stands out as being even more OP.
ALL F&F helis are cancer, the MI-28MN is just the most malignant one and frankly that is probably less due to the MI-28 being much more powerful and more due to the Pantsir shooting the others down.

Tbh, I rarely see anything alse than Suchois and Mi-28NM. I don’t know why…maybe its just the general player count…most players seem to queue up for Russia. There are rarely Apaches or even the Z-10…

Would be nice to discuss the reasons, but its for me really just the Russian air units. Maybe its indeed the raw player count and the fact that russian SPAAs are very op, compared to this multi vehicle nonsense of other nations. So most likely non-rus players are reluctant to bring air. Cause its usually just a waste of spawn points against Pantsir.

Still useless after 2 weeks, the missile will gladly lose lock in flight due to the dumb autopilot making it pitch upward (and lose track of target) and then the missile will try to hit the enemy last position but without locking it.

To be fair if you don’t already have the air tree mostly completed its a massive endeavor to grind to the KH38s.

They for sure messed with its guidance system.

I just looked at a replay, the LMUR should hold altitude, the issue is that it’s poorly made and it oscillates too much and ends up pitching too high and loses lock.

IRL LMUR is no tactical battlefield missile. Its launched and guided into target with assistance of standy recon drones and a whole control room behind it. Its more an operational missile.

A chopper directly locking a tank 15km away and simply firing the missile isn’t existing irl. Thats probably why it was changed.

That is too much to handle for average wt player. Hence why devs simplify things to make them usable for one player.
We could get laser designator on drones, maybe one that could aid plane guide its missile. So with dedicated drone player you could deal with su25 optics issue and let drone guide your missile for example. But devs dont bother because teamplay is alien to wt. And new anime pack would bring more profits.

LMUR or IZ305 is MITL, controlled I think by the gunner

Irl LMUR is a high value missile (for Russia). Rare and expensive. There are no MI-28 with full racks of 6 missiles, spamming them into tactical battlefields vs tanks, reload and spam the next volley. Most rl footage from Mi-28 and possibly KH-52 with LMURs are just for glossy brochures and Telegram propaganda.

Its mostly used against important enemy assets from FSB controlled launch platforms. Mainly Mi-8MNP helicopters. Footage suggests they just carry one missile per mission. Fly close to the target area and fire the LMUR. Then the control center takes over and gets it into target via drone feeds etc.

IRL targets are mostly warehouses, field bunkers, light bridges, ammo dumps etc.

Compare that how its used ingame…

Yeah and IRL no F15 is ever going to carry 6 ATGM and 20 GBU53, no Griphen is going to carry the sameish loadout.

It’s a game after all, and the “mub weapon is rare” argument is so pointless and out of place here.

Its not pointless. Cause that LMUR you can F&F fire just with heli optics + MFD over 15km, to hit a moving vehicle, doesn’t exist.

I mean considering the Unit cost of a LMUR is $14million vs $100,000 for Mavericks, then yes F15s are more than likely to carry such loadout, same with GBU53s, Unit cost is only about $200,000+ and this loadout isnt a typical loadout anyway, you would only see this in proper ground strike missions or deep strike missions where a single loadout will more than likely do what you need at a fraction of the cost of LMURs.

But we still have pictures showing such loadouts existing, what we dont have is operational images showing LMURs and considering the unit cost, im not even surprised you rarely see them, not saying they dont exist but GBU-53 and AGM65 loadouts exist in a plethora of images because its such a cheap loadout in comparison to anything else and its ground strike capability isnt even close to anything else
