published image showing the UR-305UD missile listed in the weapons selection interface Apparently, this refers to the Izdeliye-305 Extended Range missile. According to the photo the missile was able to hit a target 25.3kms away the weapon is listed as “УР-305УД” rather than “УР-305,” with the “УД” likely standing for “extended range”

No
No.
Ground players deserve a game as well you know.
haha yeah true
You cant even lock a target past 10km
Nah, its an extended range version of LMUR AND it requires main-in-the-loop to work properly. We dont have that in game (yet~), not to mention with how game handles rendering and/or lock distance the insane “maximum range” is pointless (except for GNSS stuff, but then again - you can chug a normal bomb from as far as you wish, just dont be surprised if you missed by a few tens of meters)
true i wonder how it would work with tv guidance being at 25km be hard to even see the enemy to go towards lmao in game
You wouldn’t even see, IIRC the render distance in-game is 20km
With man in the loop, you would fire to a certain coordenate and the autopilot will fly to there, then you just make corrections at the end
These helis as standalone systems can barely fight targets at 10km. You probably misunderstood the whole LMUR missile thing.
Irl LMUR shots are more like this imho.
-
LMUR is a missile to knock off high value targets. Most documented use vs structures and similar stationary targets. Its level of operation is operational, rather than tactical. (its also why there are not much LMUR’s produced and used so far).
-
An HQ or combat information center got intel about e.g. a ponton bridge. They send in a recon drone to lock/overwatch the target.
-
Heli gets the order to take off and to approach the target area.
-
Heli takes over the drone feed an readies the missile accordingly. The HQ gives fire order and the missile is fired off.
-
Heli crew and the HQ staff watching the drone feed until the missile impacts.
Ingame its portayed as tactical weapon, as if ru helis are able to to lock and spot over these distances with its own eqipment. Hovering up, zoom in and lock’n’spacebar 12 LMURs over 15km is just nonsense. Also as high value missile its not like there are hordes of choppers spamming these into tactical battle scenarios. Most documented use is from Mi-8 with a single missile, under operational control of a local command post.
