My guess is that it’s because it is update day, and the morning in north America.
dude there are 28 players each match sometimes even less do the math -_-

Custom battles, test drives, just minimizing the game while eating, testing new features, etc etc. Online doesn’t automatically mean “playing”.

so other then admitting that there are a lot of bot accounts your saying that there are over 100k people “testing” things?
also did the math and checked custom battles your still missing over 97k “players” ill even be generous and say that 7k people are testing the new vehicles with their freinds. so please keep going iv done almost every math angle
First thing I did was wake up test drived the f-18 for a while with different weapons.
The day of a new major update? Absolutely that A LOT of them are.
It may even be that being logged into the client counts as being online but i’m unsure about that.

I personally have the game on for very long periods of time while only playing a match ever once in a while during those times.

yeah no me too thats why i added the 7k test players due to that was most likely the normal amount
this is not a major update? this is just an update adding very little things the game masters even said that it was just an update not a “major” update

I mean a huge player base waking up to a fan favorite jet from their nation–I’d say its at least 30k. Yet I don’t disagree the numbers seem extremely disproportionate at a glance, but an average of around 30 players per battle (15 ish per team) multiplied by the battles (5630) = 168,900 players. 199,985 (online) - 168,900 (in-game) = is 31085, which is probably composed of mostly test drivers, AFK breakfast eaters, that sort of thing

its game bugs that the devs where warned about in the dev servers but they did not listen again what a shocker -_-

Timezones exist. People wake up, do their work, have free time and choose to play the game, especially now with a major update being out, which people were waiting for, so of course a lot of players will be on. As Necronomica also said, a lot of people are on the game, but tabbed out, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t on the game tabbed out right now
