How about giving every tank the best round stock?
How about we just not do that and instead give every rank 6 and 7 tank stock darts like they did rank 8. That seems like a much better balance solution than whatever it is your trying to ask for.

Try playing the m1a1 aim. Tier 3 apfsds? Very very very difficult for the first part of the grind. Gets easier once you get apfsds, left, and thermals. Now I like it it is fun and cool tank. Limit of apfsds makes some vehicles that have a glass cannon or just most non German, swedish, and Russian vehicles very unfun
Is stock grind pain? Yes. Do I wish it was better? Yes. Is this going to make it better? No This isn’t going to make things better, and make people angry, you worked for your hard earned modification, and now you’re going to limit it? It’s dim witted to think this would work, but I don’t want to come across as offensive.
This entire question can be summed up in one word No.

This just screams gold ammunition from WoT - Better rounds for an inflated price which reward experienced players with the economy to spam them and punishes newer players who can’t afford the SL.

What if we could take 10 rounds of better ammo, and 5 rounds of best ammo? Some tanks i think have more than one type of ammo to choose from which is better than stock.

Forcing people to play HEAT-FS at tier 7 is pure insanity, hell you’d have more success by firing spuds at enemy tanks instead of HEAT-FS. It’s really that bad type of shell for tier 7s that most people even buy the tier 1 APFSDS with GE just not to use the HEAT-FS
Ammo is one of main things that balance vehicles out. If IS-4M would perform bad it would get other 122mm ammo( never used it irl) with APDS and HEAT FS but it doesn’t. It was stated by Devs and ammo wouldn’t be limited in any way because of this.
And most tank at tier 7 have HEAT-fs stock that was used as Multi Purpose, Anti Tank and Anti personnel shells + APFSDS as main tank Vs tank shell. So in tank Vs tank game you go to limit main shell that is reliable enough Vs tanks, ok.
Other way, some tanks has their primary shell already as stock, Tigers and Panthers so how would you balance it out ?
Another way, some tanks never used their stock shells to begin with, like Leopard 2A6/7V, M1A2 etc etc so I want to grind 30k RP shell just to have historical ammo limit to idk 5? I want it full potential, considering we are getting more complex and more armoured vehicles each patch basically.

Aren’t players already forced to use stock ammo? I mean you always have to grind the tank first using stock ammunition.
I guess it wouldnt be limited if its stock?
Armor doesnt mean alot when most players use top ammo that goes through anything, thats why a lot of players play only light vehicles.

EDIT: This whole thing is just reminiscent of having to fly jets with no countermeasures in environment full of missiles.
It doesn’t there are plenty of vehicles that can block poor placed shots like 122s, 2A7V, every T tank with K5/Relikt and on every tier you have few examples. And I don’t talk only about top tier because every MBT can be penetrated frontally but you have tanks like Maus, E100 and T28 and try to penetrate them frontally in a stock M46 for example. Upgraded shells sometimes are the only gimmick that makes vehicles good and worth grinding and I would be possed off of someone would limit it out.
This would be a good idea. Limited to say 5 rounds or so it would not be unbalancing at all. Especially since the BR is based on the performance for the fully developed vehicles. My opinion only and I really don’t play top tier.
Yes, and that was so much fun they decided to give higher tier tanks an APFSDS round stock because people were ready with the torches and pitchforks.
I’ve done the stock HEAT-FS grind. It is not fun, it is not in any way, shape, or form, the type of ammo I want to be using against targets that are specifically armored (ERA, etc.) against chemical rounds. It would just not be any fun.
But sure, let’s ruin it for everyone because you can’t handle not being an omgwtfpwnuberslaughterlord.
Wouldn’t it be nicer and more realistic to give the tanks the bullets they actually used and change the Br about it?

The problem is not the quantity, the problem is the Br of the tank and the shameful damage pattern of all the bullets.
