BMPT and BMPT-72 are ruining the game. I suggest to limit the APDS/APT ammo count on both vehicles, just like what they did on most anti-air like Gepard. This may give other players more time to react and have a fair fight.
The gepard apds limit is not based on balance but irl limitations
Oh? How is it? they can only bring 40 rounds in real life?
Advocate for changes that doesn’t directly negatively affect a vehicle rather than doing so because of your frustation: it’s not fruitful because you’re struggling so must the other player as well? Advocate for changes that only require in-game changes (e.g. battle rating and classification);
The 35 mm Oerlikon KDA autocannon uses a dual-fed mechanism that allows a secondary belt, in this case of the Gepard and similars (e.g. Chieftain Marksman and Type 87 SPAAG) with some exceptions like the XM-246. If I’m not wrong there are some technical limitations that prevents loading 680 rounds (in this case 620 rounds) of DM23 APDS-T belts but might be just developer decision.
The APDS isn’t even a problem on the gepard, it’s the APHE that does way too much page and kills tanks easily through the cupola
Sorry I didnt quite understand your translation, but I disagree that by merely changing BMPT’s BR it would solve this problem at all. Players play game to have fun. It is not a place for people to show off their skills or take obviously unfair and unnecessary challenges.
As for the Gepard APDS limitation issue, be that as it may, because it actually makes the game more balanced and bearable to play. I understand people are seeking for a more “realistic” experience in this game, but it is just not what the game is about.
only let one gun use APDS, I’m fairly sure that was the whole point of having 2 guns to begin with.
and remove ammo boxes from everything but SPAAs
Merely is a hard word to say, as I’ve mentioned and to simplify: I will disagree with changes advocating for ahistorical changes in the vehicle, in the gameplay experience of the vehicle for sake to please other people regardless if the ahistorical change is positive or negative; Gaijin marketed War Thunder as a realistic game so it must be.
As for the Gepard part is just off-topic (on my post), it was just to answer your question on this difference and further add to @Fjord post answering said question. Gaijin can and must change BMPT and BMPT-72 classification to medium tank (in my opinion) and if needed further battle rating change—The latest battle rating was, as I can see, noticeable and effective in terms of pleasing the people that couldn’t apply the same concept of dealing with a soviet main battle tank in the exact same chassis, regardless.
It is obvious that the recent battle rating was effective in that regard since its kill/death ratio stedily decreased:

Do I think the vehicle is overpowered? No, the problem was Gaijin making it a Premium vehicle, even so the BMPT-72 is weaker than its tech tree counterpart. I can’t help but imagine a future where Gaijin purposely sells Premium vehicles that are similar or considerable superior effectiveness than its tech tree counterpart, see World of Tanks for example, or even better take a look yourself the latest Premium additions, whose are removed from the Gaijin Store and whose are best selling and why.
