Hey people.
I’m an active arcade player and from what I’ve seen, the light MBTs struggle. AMX-30 and Leopard 1 are great example.
There are little reasons to use these tanks.
-
They are most vulnerable vehicles
They are more vulnerable than light tanks and heavier tanks (think T-55) because the tanks like CLOVIS are surprisingly survivable and won’t trigger APHE shells. They are just armored enough to detonate APHE, and to get more spalling on being shot, but not enough to resist APHE like M60 and reduce spalling like T-55s
-
Their reload speed is slow
They just cannot compare with the PZH2000, and other commonly played vehicles like the DF105.
-
They cannot scout
They can’t scout, reducing their team contribution and CAS potential
-
They are SPAA food
Like all light tanks, they are free kills for SPAA, even frontally. At least M60 can resist from range, and T-55 is pretty immune for short term exposure to 35mm
-
They are slower than light tanks
They are more armored (useless in practice) that makes them slower
Arcade is a cluster**** theres a reason why the majority ditch it for realistic very quickly.
no thats the light tanks
outside of OP outliers and spamcanons which are OP this is a skill issue
that be the job of the light tank not the medium/mbt
community should have voted for the APHE changes, we are reaping what was sown
not always and if a light tank has worse mobility than the BRs mediums then its probably overtiered

I’m not talking about RB. Arcade is a part of the game, and if light MBTs are disproportionally bad in there, Gaijin should fix the balancing, otherwise there would be no need for seperate BRs

your reply is as meaningful as 67 skibidi toilet
Arcade sorta defeats the purpose of light tanks, as ur only chance of getting kills in light tanks is by flanking and not being seen, but in arcade ur on the minimap. Just play realistic at that point
No it doesn’t defeat the purpose of light tanks. In fact, light tanks can scout faster.
What it defeats, is the pseudo light tank, all the drawbacks (maybe even more) without the benefits, like scouting and lower visibility (there is a WOT style stat that lets it stay out of rendering for longer)
The developers should take this into account, as well as stats, to balance these vehicles.
Again, if they exist on arcade, as a mainstream vehicle class (the same can’t be said about poorly balanced attackers in ARB, which aren’t main vehicles), then it is important.
As a guy who’s just reached to BR 8 in the Italian tree i can attest to what OP i saying.
And it’s certainly not helped by the fact, that T58 is also regularly seen in this BR.
