We need level based match making…. Or skill match making. Everyone I’m going against that is playing 3.0 to 4.0 tanks are level 100…………… don’t understand why they aren’t play top tier…. Makes it hard on new players and makes the new players not want to play. Needa do something about this
Well when i start to play WT I was facing lvl 100 everywhere. They are the only way to push your skills beyond the limit… instead of playing with people that have same skill issue with you.
Grinding new tech trees, playing with their low tier friends.
They will only learn that, they will stay skilless forever; those who never give up went up higher every battle.
How would you suggest long time players start a new tree if not from the bottom?
Skill based match makin…
Thanks for feed back
Yes! Half the players when Im playing playing top tier (somehow still on reserve tier maps) is lvl 20 with a one vehicle lineup leaving the match after 2 min and doing nothing.
Expect me at 3.0 when i feel like it
Yeah I don’t get it. Needa be a certain level or have a boot camp level until u pass that level then u can play against the higher players or something
The problem is that the matchmaking is going to take extremely long.
New players can be in boot camp mode and then once you hit a certain level, then you’ll be with everybody else. But those who are in Boot Camp can go against each other but once you go above a certain level, then you can be against everybody else.
I see
Just posting this again.
While I am in favour of SBMM, player level is not the way to do it.
It takes 14,482,500 RP to get to level 100.
https://old-wiki.warthunder.com/Ranks
If you ONLY and ONLY fly 130% RP bonus planes in air sim and have no premium, getting to level 100 takes:
We know that you cannot earn more RP for going above 15 points:
We observe that 15 minutes alive (maximum time span observable) we have:
1050 - 1978
1950 - 2001
2653 - 2001We can safely conclude that RP gain plateus at around 1050 and ceases to increase regardless of performance - almost triple score and only 1.16% reward increase!
(further evidence: HeliBoys Sim EC Sheet - Google Spreadsheets)
Above is 80% of maximum possible reward. Landing gives us an addition 20% for 2500 RP plus minus a few score.
2500 RP per 15 minutes (assuming always earning 1050 score or higher, always landing)…
((14482500 / 2500 * 15) / 60 )/ 24 = 60.34 days
Now, let’s use a premium account (or a plane with 260% RP bonus - say a jet)
((14482500 / 5000 * 15) / 60) / 24 = 30.17 days
Which of these players do you think is more experienced?
In 30.17 days, the non-premium player ONLY flying the bf109F4 (or A6M3. The two are a few percent within each other) will earn
(30.17 x 24 x 60) / 15) x 2500 = 7240800 RP, which consulting the table:
level 65.
One player with 30 days of playtime is level 100.
The other with 30 days of equal gameplay and playtime is only level 64.Air sim is used as an example because we have a fixed upper cap on RP earned making it very easy to calculate things.
If you aim for balanced fairness, forget player levels exist. They don’t say anything.
Instead, look at some kind of elo rating that’s defined per ranks played.
A crack pilot of WW2 dogfights has very little transferable skills to BVR jet combat and vice versa. Of course, we should acknowledge that neighbouring ranks do influence the nearby ones so initial ELO should be a function of the elo of the ranks above and below with each rank having an increasingly diminishing contribution so that by rank 6, rank 3’s impact has a vanishing influence and vice versa.
( as a fun exercise, I have 750h of total playtime and a playerlevel of 70.
If I spent all 750 hours playing air sim in just the bf109f4, I’d be…
((750 x 60) / 15)) x 2500 = 7 500 000 RP - level 66.
Suppose 300 hours of that 750 being in sim with rank 3.0-5.7 planes kinda explains the theoretical bf109 spammer without premium being so close to my own…
If Instead I did it with premium I’d be level 100 already. Would premium make me a better WW2 plane pilot?)
I’m like lvl 71 rn. I’d be level 100 already if I had prem account from day 0.
Also
I play for World War 2 brackets.
My go to vehicles are Bf109F4, P-51C10, G.55 Sotto0, Ki-61, Mustang Mk Ia, Corsairs.
Tell me -
Where in “top tier” can I find these aircraft? Where in top tier can I have propeller plane dogfights that rely on gunskills rather than rathar and missile performance?
Where in “top” tier do I have planes with such “weak” engines that they cannot sustain their corner speed creating a neat distinction between uphill and downhill fighting introducing fun dogfight geometries? Jets can just camp at very high turn performance as long as they got afterburners and pull energy out of nowhere.
How about early jet? Very fun too.
Dead BRs in sim. Mostly zombers zombing on denmark and also absurd repair costs.
17.3k for Ho 229 and max earning potential is 19.8K per 15 minutes, making it so you need 30 minutes of perfect play landing both 15 minute segments to afford your next spawn. This leads to people ditching lobbies ASAP. Also, Ariete at 9.0 and Saggitario 2 at 8.0 kinda oppress everything while with props you can uptier a 4.0 plane to 5.7 and still have good success (109F4, p51C10)
Oh, and german sea hawk and british sea vixen and american f9f-8 have missiles and I hate having to deal with missiles. Fly high and you get sniped from below from your blindspot.
Lvl100 in low br better than lvl3 in toptier
I’m a Lvl100, and my highest br is around 8.7 or something. Plus I play for WW2 Air, WW2 ground and WW2 naval. Modern stuff doesn’t interest me, so why would I play stuff I don’t like?
I joined the game back in 2012 for WW2 (on my old account, which I deleted when I went to Xbox), not for modern stuff
