A pointless post when you think about it,skill levels are all over the place. The only thing I found early on was that level 100 tanks seemed indestructible to me as a newbie and I later learned that was because experienced players greatly limited their ammo.If I had any brains
I would have watched a tutorial video and discovered that before I started.Same with BR.Do yourself a favour as a new player watch a few videos ,do some reading.Clear up a few mysteries and ease your frustration in game.
Level is just a number. 😈
51 now
There is always been the assumption that level is not considered in MM. Interestingly enough, years ago, the forum moderators themselves said that the game will give people who have lost a lot a break and place them better. It was in the old forum.
But on a more practical side, do the following:
Take an account of a good lvl100 player and have him do nothing in the match. Just sit in spawn, abstaining from the entire match if possible. Do this a few games and determine the win rate.
Now repeat this experiment with an average joe account. Then use statistical analysis to test for the hypothesis “the win rates of a Lvl100 and average joe are equal if they are inactive”.
The newbie will have level 100 in their team as well so it will be balanced. You dont need to be levl 100 to press a button and get a kill and being level 100 wont stop you dying.
That may be true but has no relevance to what I said in the first place.
I’ve moved from WoT to WT because my kids wanted me to play with them. Now something I’ve noticed when playing 1.0 BR is the high level of accuracy that I can only put down to cheating from some players. I play realistic because I hate the fact you know where everyone is without having actually seen them. But we were getting ripped apart from a player with 9 kills who was camped at his spawn. You couldn’t move without getting hit.
I mean, I understand if you fire or get spotted or whatever, you briefly appear, but when you come out of nowhere to find 3 tanks already locked onto you, makes me very suspicious.
Now, they’ll be people who’ll say learn to play, get gut, but that’s the attitude of a child. And cheating does exist because for me it ruined WoT & I see it again in WT. And the fact there’s no report player specific for cheating & that WT ToS says if you make a video revealing players who cheat, you can get your own account banned, just makes me thing they’re doing what Wargaming have done, just pretend it exists & deny any claims it does.
Very suspicious game play from some individuals with stupid names.
You realize that crews will influence range of sight? Did you expert your crews?
There’s no kind of skill based matchmaking in War Thunder, so everytime you want to start a new tree without a rank 7 premium, you gotta play all those reserve tiers again (pain)
The bigger problem is the level 10s in their F-5Cs and premium high tier tanks.
I’m talking about lvl1 BR realistic matches being played with high lvl players. Just had a game with this guy called =Jgs77=LiVion on the enemy team, 27 kills no deaths lvl 86 I believe playing a starter tank. I’m sorry but that’s just pathetic.
Learning to play this game is a big move from WOT & its taking some getting used to. But my teenage sons wanted to play a game together we all can enjoy. But as the OP said, it is completely unfair & wrong to have high lvl players who’ve homed their skills or cheating, either way, playing in starter level battles is stupid. Yes we all have to play starter levels if we want to start a new country of tanks, but I look up these players & they always have at least lvl 6+ tanks in all nations, so to continue to play low level games beginners to the game have to play & grind for the easy kills is rather pathetic. The offset is the credits you earn & exp, but when your a very good player or cheating like the player above me clearly was, your soaking up credits, getting the exp, getting the rewards & the win ratio up.
WoT fixed this problem a while ago, just sad to see WT still allowing this to continue. Because it really is unfair to allow high lvl players to play against low level players. Like I said, WOT addressed this with it being player skill level based, not tank based so it allowed beginners or poor players to play with players of their own skill group, not being pushed up against pro’s & quickly deterred from playing the game, which I’m starting to think what is the point when I already have a very good account on WOT. Even my kids are losing interest because they simply can’t win because we keep getting high lvl players.
If you suspect people cheating, link to the server replay and ask people to have a look for unusual behavior. There are enough people here with the expertise to detect it from the replay. Don’t use your client replay, use the server replay. Don’t name the player here , give the replay and some other information. (“Guy starts in Pizza Car”)
If Gaijin finds the player to be cheating, they will permanently ban him in the next ban wave. And then you will see him in your entry games as another newbie just like yourself. In other words, you can’t avoid these people as a beginner. You only noticed this one, there might have been more. And maybe he isn’t cheating.
One thing is sure, if you play an entry level tank, you will not get much research done on high level tanks. There is an 80% penalty. Also the SL income will not finance your next high tier purchase. So he is definitely not there for fiscal reasons.
The reason he is there could be either stats padding, fun, tree grinding or the x-mas event. This event requires score points above all. And it will end in about 9 days or so. Until then, the game is a bit crazy on all floors. If you feel helpless atm, just wait for the event to pass.
What you should do though is your homework before you post stuff here. Look up players and inspect their stats. The one you mention is not showing any sign of rank 1 stats padding. His most spawned vehicle in rank 1 has been spawned 22 times total, with 7 kills on 13 deaths. Stat padding works differently.
He doesn’t have the Toldi II, so the xmas event is out too.
In fact, he is just grinding rank 2 Italy. He never played an italien rank 3 tank yet. Just like you with the british.
I found the replay:
https://warthunder.com/en/tournament/replay/154546830417967323
I have looked at some other replays, where he did perform mediocre and died early. From his stats it is evident that he only has 8 spawns in that car, and of the 30 ground kills total, he got 13 in this match while using 2 spawns of it. He isn’t doing this every match.
And I don’t see him having 27 kills either, as you have claimed. He had 14 ground, 2 air, died 3 times. If it was in another match, please link to it.
As I am no expert in realistic, I leave the analysis of his replay to others. But I have to give that car a spin.
BR is not MMR, besides not everyone buy premium for grinding so they have no choice but to start from the lowest br possible.
If the suggestion is something like a “kiddie pool” to match all the newbies together, I am fine with that.
But iirc this was/is already in the game to some extent.
That us one issue with level 100 ,having higher crew skills and probably fully developed vehicles.Saying that,we were all new at one piont.
Yes, and the results were interesting.
TL/DNR: got abused
Longer version:
Anyone who wanted to club seals could generate new accounts and enter there. No protection from clubbers.
People figured out the exit conditions and played as long as possible to grind in the newbie pool, becoming a problem themselves.
People who were tranfered into the real world would be shocked and frustrated. Hero for 100 battles, zero thereafter.
Whatever you do, players will have to accept to have picked a game with a long learning curve. If they don’t, they will drop the game.
This buddy will have low italian crews or have spend money on them. It is the same situation the complaining poster has. I have asked the poster if he had experted his crews but got no answer.
Now the maps are narrow and open a newbie has hiding place. They have to play GRB like Arcade.
I think from what I am seeing many have started new accounts anyway.
Maybe they were banned or just gave up a year or two ago and returned. Can’t really stop that. There is so much about how to play this game on the internet and it gets harder as you progress not easier, you see the same players at all levels so one may as well get used to it.
this is a dumb post. They are Constantly making new vehicles. So you want high/max level players just to… never play the vehicles and spade them?
Low tier is pretty fair for all players. Yes, usually high/max level players have an advantage… but its pretty minute… and ive seen plenty of level 50 -100 players who are mentally handicapped and have like a 30% leader score , or… worse. and are Terrible at the game (usually i get teams Full of these players. )
I’m new. I play Tank RB.
My gameplay was discouraging. A friend recommended I try a new tree so I started the USSR tree, literally BR 1.0 with the default reserve tanks.
I started noticing the top players getting 15 kills a match and began looking at player cards. I won’t say the matches were all level 100s but there were a considerable number of them and those who weren’t level 100 were often levels 70+.
I reasoned that they might be high level players starting a new tree but they’re player cards were full of the usual ribbons and rewards and showed the tree they were currently driving had numerous (20-72 in one case) spaded vehicles.
Here’s a cute gatcha I learned when 6 planes in my BR1.0 match swarmed my spawn… BR1.0 USSR tanks have no roof mounted machine guns and can’t shoot at planes above them.
I’m an old, retired career computer programmer so I’ve been playing games for decades. There is one fact that is always true. Where ever there is a PVP game, there will be people of such low self worth that they must seek out new player areas for easy pray in order to have any self-worth at all. From early titles like Ultima Online, Air Warrior III, Aces High to name just a couple, they had to deal with the failed people who seek out new or disadvantaged players. Its the credo of PVP to avoid the fair fight after all. In most cases the player communities are completely segregated, PVP on one server and PVE on another. In some, new player start areas are designated where experienced players are unable to go.
War Thunder is special in this regard. Its PVE mechanisms, especially in ground modes, a disaster in my opinion, leaving only unmanaged PVP content. So its entirely expected that failed people will seek out new players in unspaded vehicles. Its been this way for over 40 years of my game play. Game creators who learn to manage these challenges become legends and those who don’t die as broken and twisted cesspools’ as the normal player base attrition meets new player frustration and the creator scrambles to patch the holes of the sinking ship with the wrong answers.
The forums are full of player who care begging for Geijin to take steps so the players can keep giving Gaijim their money. And in every one of those threads there is the very common and usual collection of posters attacking the opinions of their fellow players. Again, this is a very, very old way of things. Meanwhile the game has a rating of 2.6 on google, well known YouTube content creators are posting content about the game being broken and old players are avoiding top tier content because of how broken it is. There’s suffering at the beginning and the end now.
For my part, I used to play 20-30 PVP matches a day. Now I build custom maps and play those, only playing about 5 - 10 PVP matches a week when my squad mates who have every tank in every tree aren’t playing Helldivers.
Only word->Cope. If we want to play lower tiers we are gonna play lower Tiers. Just because we have top-tier doesn’t mean we care for it. We might not even enjoy it.
