not a fan as warthunder is purely vehicle based game, unlike battlefield 4 which is infantry focused (from which i believe you got the idea from).
Lets say that the 38th parallel gets levolution in form of dam being able to destroyed, and compare that to the lancang dam (map with destroyable dam) and flood zone.
Levolution in lancang dam does little in terms of gameplay, as the change is limited to the terrain around the dam foundations. could be implemented in WT.
but the 38th parallel map, or rather dam, holds a lot of water. So it would be better compared to flood zone map.
when levolution happens in the flood zone map, the street level is flooded, making it inaccesible for non-amphibious vehicles and forces infantry to swim, or move the fighting to the rooftops. you see where the issue is?
most of vehicles in warthunder cant swim, and none of the ground vehicles can fight vertically (ie. going to rooftop of a building unless map allows it).
flooding the 38th parallel map would wipe out most vehicles in the valley (since, you know, water has actually lot of energy), and make the valley inaccesible for non amphibious vehicles. so best to hope your lineup does have some amphibious light tank, otherwise match is basically over for you. and if your lineup does have amphibious vehicles, youre now playing worse version of naval battles.
some levolution maps change what vehicles spawn once the evolution happens - again flood zone spawns boats in addition to ground vehicles so you could theoretically just change the battle from ground to naval.
but i personally would instantly quit the game if i signed up for ground battle to play tanks and suddenly game told me to “lol enjoy your reserve boat from now on” mid game.
sure, the flood zone/38th parallel example is specific one, and in some instances it could work, but there would be need brand new maps.
and i also believe the levolution mechanic is trademarked by EA.
