You talk about IRIS-T’s often killed with rocket pods and my take is “total nonsense”… this realy is another “Germany suffer” thread…
How do you know it got flared and not dodged since it was launched like closer than 3km away ?
Because he does the same move in another vid from a higher distance and I’ve done it myself a couple times.
So even if it was rather dodged than flared here it does work exactly as shown in the video
I cant see much “suffering”, honestly i think its the easiest nation to play besides russia. The leopards are second best in game for armor and rounds, the air is the 3rd best with the EF, low tier is extremely good with strong beginning lineups that lead to a very strong 6.7 - 8.3 set of lineups.
The suffering at top tier essentially boils down to the problem that the 2 things that are exceptionally good in the german tree (the 2A7V and the IRIS T SLM) both get hard countered by the current nightmare of top tier which is LDIRCM Helis. And the CAS is not bad but slow moving SPICE and laser guided Brimstones are not it atm and the new Pantsir really doesnt make things easier.
“Suffering” is a bit fatalistic but times have been better for german top tier.
I don’t understand this mechanic. Can you elaborate? Why should incoming missile seeker & pathfinding care about you rolling around your longit. axis? Is it a bug?
Also heli vs heli balance. There is nothing you can do in a Tiger UHT to scratch a russian attack chopper. Its an issue, quite frequent on certain maps. Neither Stingers nor PARS will ever reach a DIRCM protected heli. You can spamm all your missiles at once, they all turn away from the heli and miss. You can just ram it, thats the only option. Its hellish. Their LMUR can kill you from 15km away and you can’t do anything. Super bad balancing. WT is the only game I know where certain units are almost immune to enemy fire.
I have absolutely 0 idea why it works tbh but im not surprised given how Gaijin models modern IR seekers.
True the lack of an LDIRCM Heli is rough but thats probably not going to change soon
Aim9 sidewinders are tracking suspension so from rear and front aspect, roll and flare to create a flare circle around you.
R73 and magic 2 uses gatewidth so you need to flare between you and the ir missile, then pull in once the missile loses track so it doesn’t get closer to you.
And just always cut afterburner and try to preflare when possible
But you also need to show me that flares actually had any effect on the missile missing.
I’ve seen people dodging other missiles with a corkscrew as well.
Yeah SARH missiles usually get corkscrewed but the Iris is always ir when terminal, datalink between radar and Ir doesn’t exist in game
I’ve never seen anyone just corkscrew an IR missile
This is why they need to remove DLIRCM being able to deflect all incoming missiles at once, they need to add jamming limits at some point, two DLIRCM helicopters literally cannot kill each other with anything unless they are carrying laser AGMs which no one does at top tier.
Wounder whats taking so long. Gajin suggested changes in one of their devblogs months ago. It really can’t stay like this.
Honestly I can confirm you can kinda just so flare, as soon as DL breaks that missiles is a glorified stinger at times honestly.
Maybe when they add the Su-57… They would have to nerf then, imagine not being able to fire IR missiles at it.
It actually happened to me fairly often against decent pilots while using IR SAMs.
I managed to kill Mı-28NM with my Z-10ME 2 days ago.
Key is to spam your entire missiles rapidly to overcome LDIRCM protection, tho wasting 16 missiles on single helicopter shows how broken this system is.
Which IR SAMs if i may ask? Because i can absolutely see that happening with some earlier ones but not with a 40g IRIS T
Don’t know exactly what SAM I used.
I highly doubt that it can pull 40G in early and late stages of flight, so you might have a chance.
Also, I’ve yet to see a ground launched IR missile with IRCCM visibly going for a flare.
Oh it absolutely can or at least close to, it pulls enough aoa out of the tube do to the funny spin when youre launching at a target too close
I mean i dont know what to tell you, it cant be the radar since the guidance is either IR or Radar, it doesnt work without flaring and in the video hes about 2km away thats above the minimum range
